Given that Sinclair has had a love to a big EPL team and it didn't really work out, followed by a midtable sleeping giant who imploded and were relegated, if he is a success here and enjoys his football, he might be inclined to stick around as he knows the EPL grass isn't always greener...
I agree

to say this is an 'investment' doesn't figure

Not going to compare him to anyone as thats unfair. What i will say is weve not had someone like him who has pace, skill, positioning, can control a shot and has the intellignece to bring others into the game since Bellamy.

This guy will be a belter for us and unfortunately probably will be for Peter aswell when he cashes in.
Ah, man, can we just stop this for five minutes?

Players are either not good enough for Celtic and then five games later too good for us.

A couple of days ago, £4m was too much for Sinclair and now we're looking at cashing in at a profit.

The vast majority of players move at all clubs. It's the way football is now, so do we need to mention it every time someone puts a run of good form together?
I think we all know when we spend £4m on a player from England who was previously rated higher we will struggle to keep him if he does very well. The little fun poking dig at Pedro is standard now and not always a go at him. You cant hide the fact that Peter and the boards reward for shelling out that type of money is a full trophy cabinet and a return on the player if possible.

I dont think there is anything wrong stating that or saying that Peter will be happy with it, unfortunately we as fans wont be when we lose him. Yes enjoy him like we will any successful player but successful players leave its the way it goes.

It wasn't just a post at you. It's just a constant remark when anyone starts to look half decent that we'll be unable to hold onto him. Even your mate James Forrest a few years back when Spurs etc were looking at putting in a bid.

Maybe as you say it's just a bit of poking fun at Lawwell, but sometimes it's almost as if some people's enjoyment is tempered because they know at some stage, maybe in the not too distant future, this new hero will be away to Southampton.

usually I would agree with you mate, but this is where his age will go in our favour.

2 years down the line he will be 29, not exactly the age of player clubs come in with massive offers for.

Think we will have him as long as we have Brendan.

I thought he'd do well up here but on the evidence so far he's going to run riot.

Opposition defenders will be bringing a change of underwear.

I think most realise they have to just enjoy the good when we have it. Its certainly pointless crying yourself to sleep each night worrying about the next bid we cant turn down. We have to take a lot of pleasure and enjoyment out of having this lad up here.

As for Forrest, could Brendan have us thinking that way about him again? I think his big money move has sailed by him at speed but if he can get him improving at the rate he has in the last few appearances he will be a good player to have around for the next three years.

If you are that keen to find out and can be arsed the info is all on the Kds Wiki under "Transfers In" but it won't help that much due to the number of undisclosed fees

I think we will basically be using him and Roberts as wide strikers most of the time, rather than orthodox wingers.

I get that but I actually think he's better as an out and out striker, but as long as he's doing the biz as per the last two games then brilliant

I wont dwell on this as weve just got him in the door but look at the guys over 30 and the money they are moving for down south.... £14m.....£13m are just two in the last week or so.

Fingers crossed nobody wants him down there, i think the big thing we have going for us is this lad is cash rich, he and his family wont want for anything but as a guy who sounds like he puts a lot of importance on enjoying his football, thats the big thing for us. If he can get his game back on track up here and become that fans favourite it will be like a different world to where hes been for the last couple of years.

Maybe I misunderstood your post. What does Lawwell have to do with signing quality players? Surely the calibre of the manager is a factor in attracting talented players to the club? Or was that your point?

Can we stop this "'x' player is better in 'y' position" pish, please?

It's brutal enough hearing that all of our central defenders hold the key to our defensive midfield woes, let's not start hypothetically tossing perfectly able wide men up front for the banter.
