You're allowed to be poor without being a shampooe bag and all of the other stuff thrown his way in here.

 Well said. He's not playing as well as we know he can, but he's not some sort of villain.

To be fair he isn't the only one, there are quite a few that have been poor compared to last season and its unfair that a lot of fans are targeting him alone for it. the whole squad need a boot up the back side including the manager in that as well, he chooses the tactics and training methods, he decides what the squad is for games and he decides who we sign, if a player is out of form but the manager keeps picking them who is really to blame ?

Didn't look much like a coward when he put that penalty away at Fir Park. He is a big worry though, if he can't get his form back next season then I'd sell him in January, he's on too much to sit on the bench. I really hope he turns it round, fantastic player when he's confident and in form.

No, but he does when he's jumping out of the way of every 50/50 ball.

I can take poor form, a lack of confidence or even simply not being good enough. I can't take a lack of heart and effort.

Kinda agree but (including myself at points) we have been typing that patter all year.

He is on too much paper to sit on bench and at times this year he is a man short.

Probably the most disappointing factor this season has been Sinclair's form. Can't remember a player having such a drastic nosedive in performance levels from one season to the next.

He makes life hard for himself. Constantly stops the ball dead when he receives it and faces up the defender.

I think he has missed Armstrong next to him in the side most of this this season plus he hasn't been great himself hopefully a good break and pre season he will be back to his best

I just tend to expect little if anything to come from Sinclair now. If something does it's a bonus. It's been like that since before Christmas, whereas previously he had been integral to how fluid we were as a team.

Increasingly clumsy in possession of the ball. There is always going to be a higher percentage of things that don't come off for a player like that because he is a dynamic player reliant on his speed, pace over 5 to 10 yards, ability to go by people. He's also in a part of the pitch where he'll always play a fair number of low percentage balls and crosses.

But he has just not done the basics well enough this season. The chances he missed in the NY game seemed to damage him, although the form dip started well before. Not keeping simple possession. Failing to re-establish a partnership with the full back or the striker. Providing a different threat by making the diagonal through the middle. Tucking in to cover the full back well when required.

Last season to be fair our play was quicker and his partnership with Dembele was successful in particular, but also with Armstrong playing a higher percentage of quicker passes to him and getting ahead of him. Both have not been there for large parts of this season.

His 60 minutes against Bayern were probably the low point. I think he touched the ball about five times in total.

I just had a look back 150 odd pages and I had him up there as walking into any Celtic squad of the last 20 years and others had him as Larsson levels without the same number goals

The fall in form has been dramatic, to say the least. If the new season is a fresh start I really hope it resets his mindset and he finds form of old. He's a massive asset when he's on top form.

The 50/50s aren't even the main issue for me. He's not exactly the most robust, so flying into challenges with hammer-throwers looking to injure him usually in nothing areas of the park isn't as much a concern as it would be with other players. What worries me more is the obvious lack of confidence that's been painfully evident since the turn of the year. When the going gets tough, sadly Sinclair gets going.

Maybe 1 out of 10 times he'll actually try and drive into the box at pace. The other 9 times we see him jitter about for a good 5/6 seconds before attempting to go by his man. If he goes on the outside he'll either get dispossessed or maybe win a corner at best. If he goes inside then it's usually a speculative shot that he would have burst the net with the previous year. He misses some amount of sitters as well. Even his goal against Hearts the other week was hit with zero conviction and was fortunate to find its way in.

Despite all that I still rate the guy. He's had a lot going on in his personal life this season. Through that as well as aforementioned poor performances, he's still emerged as our top scorer and played a vital role in getting us through our CL qualifiers - which many will say are our most important matches of the season. I hope he'll get his head right in the summer because we need the invincibles Sinclair back. I'm afraid this season's version isn't worth the wages.

If really like him to leave, for everyone's sake.
Nothing wrong with that.
He was outstanding last season, but something must be very wrong for him to fall so far.
Looks best for all concerned, I wish him well but want him gone.

Some outrageous guff on this thread bordering character assasination.

Not the worst player to have had a bad season.

Down south he is a squad player, no big deal and only half decent cover for injuries or a sub, he had no pressure on him to perform every game, he has come up here and had the run of the place, nobody could touch him and it was brilliant to watch. This season other teams know how to stop him and because he can't play his way anymore his confidence is shot, he is one of the most predictable players I've ever seen and really needs to bring more to his game, Brendan needs to work with him over the summer and get his confidence up. There are a number of players in the same boat, Sinclair being a 4m man is maybe taking more than his fair share of criticism and others are getting off lightly because of that.

The fact that he had the baws to take that penalty doesn't disprove that he's still a shampooebag at times.

"Sinclair is scared of getting hurt and shampooes out of tackles"

"Naw he's not, that's no true, he scored a penalty once"

Whit?

Are you under the impression that being a bit of a shampoobag during the match and enjoying his time here are mutually exclusive?

Struggled to handle the amount of games and lack of rest/short pre season. Just the way it is playing for Celtic.
