BR today (BBC)

Meanwhile Rodgers has played down the prospect of winger Scott Sinclair, who has scored 42 goals since arriving in the summer of 2016, returning to England this summer.

"I just think between now and the end of the season this is probably where the stories begin, and if reporters aren't sure they'll probably just do what they normally do - make it up," he said.

"Scott's very happy, he's a fantastic player for us and he's coming into a part of the season where he was really effective for us last year.

"He's got 17 goals this year, a lot of assists, and this is as a wide player. He's a very important member of our squad here and importantly, he's very happy."
Good. I think he'll come good again and be a big player for us over the next 2 years.

The Huns are also terrified of him.

Jam back on.

I spoke to someone yesterday fairly close to the situation who said it was all paper talk and you'd never guess there was a big cup game coming up.

I guess time will tell.

FORGET the back-page rumours - everything is still wonderful, beautiful and magical in Paradise for Scott Sinclair. The Englishman was bemused to read suggestions in the press that he wasn’t happy at Celtic after returning to Glasgow from a short break with his family during the international week.

The truth is simple: Sinclair loves the club, and he and his young family are happy and settled in Scotland. Leave? Out of the question. He wants to be here for 10 –in-a-row!

And speaking exclusively to the matchday programme for this weekend’s game against Ross County, Sinclair was keen to set the record straight and reassure the Hoops faithful his full focus is on hitting top gear again and finishing the season with a flourish.

“It was just speculation and maybe because I didn’t play in the last couple of games – but I love this club and I love being here,” he said. “This is why I chose to play for Celtic. I’m happy and enjoying my football. There’s always going to be speculation, but I need to put my head down and get back to the form that I showed the fans last year.

“I have been to so many clubs and this is where I’ve been at my happiest. Leaving here would be out the question. I want to be here for 10-in-a-row.

“The missus is settled and loves it up here – she loves the city and everything about it. We have another little one on the way as well. I’m in a happy place right now.

“My confidence is still up there. I’m still confident I can score goals and play well but it’s just putting that on to the pitch and giving the fans something to cheer about.

“I set my standards so high, winning Player of the Year and as a team we won an Invincible Treble, so it was an unbelievable year and those are the standards everyone expects now. That’s fair enough and it’s about proving that, keeping your confidence up, which it is, and going out and performing.”

The champions’ first chance to set down a marker towards that goal will be Saturday's visit of struggling Ross County, who current prop up the league table. Despite their predicament, Sinclair expects a difficult test from the Staggies.

“I think it’ll be a tough game - it always is no matter where the team are in the league,” he said. “Whenever a team comes to Celtic Park, it’s like their cup final. I’m sure we’ll have more possession and they might sit in. It will be a very hard game but we want to get that momentum back, as we go into the last part of the season.

“Coming back, the players who didn’t go on the internationals are going to be fresher while those who played in the international matches will have been ticking over. It’s up to us to win the games and then pick up the momentum.”

Sounds like he is pretty happy here. Hopefully he can find his form again.

Sinclair has been brilliant for us but if we can get what we paid off a Bournemouth or Brighton I think it could be time to cash in.His talent is unquestionable but due to age the position he's competing for and the size of our squad letting him go may not be a bad thing.

No chance.

He loves it here, he’s a great player and he will hit top form again.

He may well do but at 29 can you see him hitting the heights of last season again.Added to the fact we are desperate to strengthen in other ares if the right offer came in I wouldn't mind us cashing in.

Why is there an obsession to sell our best players. And on the cheap :o

"He's not worth that (£8 million) even in the premier league" is up there with the daftest about. Some roasters on here indeed.

No obsession to sell from me.All I'm saying is I can't see Sinclair hitting the heights of last season again and this time next year we will definitely not recoup 4 million for a 30 year old.If the money helps us pay for a quality rb cb or keeper I would be happy enough with that.

I'm not sure that a 29-year-old who's had spells in the footballing wilderness, followed by a good season at Celtic, is worth £8 million. Perhaps there are teams that will be willing to pay that but it's hardly daft to suggest that they wouldn't.

We've got loadsa money, the sell on from VVD plus probably 5 or 6 leaving, eff selling Sinclair. He's happy, his family are happy, forget the sell on fee and have him here for the rest of his career. Now to get him back on last season's form for the run in :rocker:

Why not keep him for the next 3 or 4 years and add quality beside him?
