He scored one goal this season (somebody tell me which game  ) when the ball cannoned of the post and came to him at an angle and he drilled it into the net first time. As if he can do it without thinking sometimes. I dunno, he's got everything a wide player needs, confidence gone off a tad mebbe.

Had a few excellent runs today a good assist for Forrest's goal.

Should have scored himself but his movement was brilliant to get into position for that chance.

People have Forrest down as our POTY yet Sinclair has scored more & also assisted more.

Both players goals have come in bursts.

Yet, Sinclair has been pish & Forrest is our player of the year?

“His movement was brilliant”?
His movement today was typical of most of this season. When KT gets the ball and is looking for something ahead of him Sinclair drifts into the middle and marks a centre half.
I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt and hoping it’s just a wee loss of form.

His movement for his chance? Sorry, I should have made that clear. He made a brilliant run for the chance he missed.

Just to add this is how his stats look for the season.

July: 3 goals in 3 starts

August: 4 goals 5 starts

Sept: 4 goals in 6 starts

Oct: Worst month by far. 0 goals in 4 starts.

Nov: 2 goals in 4 starts

Dec: 3 goals in 8 games

Jan: 3 starts 2 goals

Feb: No goals yet this month

He can look back on the season so far and say he has contributed massively.

We can also look back and say despite those impressive goal stats - he’s not playing nearly as well as we’ve seen him play before

Can say that objectively and without suggesting he’s pish or should be sold

I thought his run for the chance he fluffed was great but if I’m honest - it was a very poor shot

Forrest is playing to the absolute best of his ability. Sinclair has been playing well below par. There's a clear difference and that's why Forrest deserves POTY.

Using purely statistics to judge a player is dangerous. It makes guys like Kris Boyd look half decent. The eye test is enough to see that Sinclair has been shocking recently.

Probably surprised it was a cracking forward pass from Broonie.

Sinclair is cannon fodder on here.

Even in the games he’s supposedly pish, he still goes past his man and creates chances for others.

As good as Forrest has been this season, I’d be willing to bet that’s Sinclair has gone past his man more times than Forrest has, created and scored more, yet, he’s pish, nae confidence, found out etc

That’s a bit of a contrast when you compare the feedback about their performances.

Fans take it for granted that Sinclair will go past his man and produce, whereas If Jamesy beats his man it’s well remembered as it’s so rare. Sinclair is being compared to last season which is unfair. Teams are doubling up on him too.

He’s not been great but he’s been nowhere near as bad as he’s made out

Agree about the sitters though, feckin useless from 6 yards
Agree with that, although there are still plenty of dafties who think that Forrest isn’t up to much either.

Basically, everyone is cannon fodder. There’s always some eejit who’s gone all in on their opinion of a player, and is unwilling to back down whatever the evidence. Because it’s very important that they stick to that opinion.

First touch was the problem. It meant the ball but stuck under his feet and all he could do was poke it forward. He is a very good player for us but he is not a world beater. If he was he wouldn't be at cp in2018.

Constantly misses easy chances.

Then can whip it in from 25 yards.

He blows hot and cold in his overall performances like most wide players do but when he's good he's very good and when he's bad he's still scoring goals. I think part of Sinclairs problem is that he is far more likely to lose the ball than any of our other wide players because of the way he tries to take on opponents. Defenders are no longer diving in and being made look like fannies and they are doubling up on him. It would make sense for him to try and just release the ball a bit quicker when he gets it and wait for the opportunity to hit the by line as opposed to trying to force it.

I think he is suffering a bit from second season syndrome - as the team are in general - and looks a bit short on confidence at times, his general demeanour is a bit sullen at times, compared to last season when he looked to be enjoying himself. Dembele is in the same category, although injuries have hampered him since the tail-end of last season.
You can't question Sinclair's goals tally but his general play isn't up to last season's standards. In fairness, though, if he had only arrived in the summer just past I don't think anyone would be complaining.
It is a strange situation though - the League Cup is already bagged, 8 points clear in the SPL and in the QFs of the SC, a second treble isn't out of the question but yet Celtic, in most fan's opinions, aren't playing that well and certain players look a bit out of sorts or almost totally off their game. The current injury situation is obviously not good at all, but the size of the squad means that Celtic can still field teams that don't look, on paper anyway, weakened by much at all.
I think it's a classic case of being spoiled a bit by last season's monumental effort and also a bit of whether you look at this season in a glass half-full or empty way.

I think, Forrest has just exceeded everyone's expectations.

Like, Sinclair he hasn't offered us much in Europe this season. Like, Sinclair he was poor v The Huns. Like, Sinclair he has had many a game when he has been ineffective.

I don't think there is much between them in terms of performances this season. James probably slightly shades it but not by much.
