Bit early to be gloating - great stats but most recognise he’s had a very different season to last in terms of his overall quality and contribution

I am not gloating? Just think some of the posts about Sinclair have been way, way over the top.

Fans have asked for him to be sold.

He has also been called a coward.

If memory serves he shat out a couple of tackles very noticeably in recent (December ) homegames and that where some of that came from - i don’t think he’s a coward btw - no way - just feel he's not been as good this season

Think the idea that a player is 'coward' cause he doesnt go into to tackles he's probably not gonna win is dumb. Intelligence on the ball is a far greater strength than being being 'brave' or full blooded, not thatthose qualities are completely unimportant. If its a challenge your not gonna win i'd prefer the player not going into to it so not to endanger himself, anybody else or get booked/sent off. Players like Tierney or Brown are very good tacklers so will have a better chance of winning challenges outwith their favour, whereas a slight attacking winger like Sinclair, its just never gonna be a strength of his.

If not 'shampooting' yourself out of tackles was that important Darren O'dea would be one of the best players in the country instead of sitting on dundee's bench during his prime years as a CB.

That’s all very good but I saw with my very own eyes two tackles he should have went in for. Taking into account all the excuses, im sorry, caveats you just listed

I actually say - I don’t hink he’s a coward - but he did shampoo out of tackles he shouldn’t have

He's still a shampooebag. That's no a big deal. Lots of players are shampooebags.

Hope he hits some form after his rest

If he had put his foot through the ball from five yards out, instead of worrying about connecting with Tavernier, he'd have burst the net. That wasn't a 50/50.

The coward patter is over the top but I would be amazed if Rodgers didn't have a word with him after watching the hun game back.

No carrot expects him to fly into tackles the way Brown does but there are times when he could be a bit more committed.

Of all aspects of Sinclair's game, a lot of which he can improve, you focus on something so unimportant. Negativity for the sake of it. Dont remember Moussa, Griff or Paddy Roberts being famous for going into every tackle or whatever. Same reason why Mesut Ozil gets as much flak as someone like Jordan Henderson, ie not running about like a madman, despite being 1000x better than Henderson.

No ones above criticism but it can at least be genuine. Or maybe focus on the positives of having a winger who, though not playing at his best, still has 16goals and 16assists by January. Not too long ago GMS was playing in his position.

Again, the guy isn't asking Sinclair to start diving into tackles.

What he did against the huns was shampooebaggery. Again, not a huge deal, lots of players are frightened. Doesn't make him a bad player by any stretch of the imagination.

I still don't understand why people are still reticent to call it for what it was.

So how do you know I’m being negative just for sake of it?

That’s a bit of a leap - my post was in response to a point someone else made

You don’t need to be so defensive about Sinclair either - any player that shampoos out the tackle he did will see it brought up on here - this was in direct response to allegations of cowardice, again, something I don’t agree with but thought it might relate to that

he’s got lots of positives - of course he has - jeezo his goals and assists are great - considering, by his own standards - he’s not playing as well or with as much confidence as he did last season - that’s an objective point of view - not a negative one

People get so touchy and defensive over any criticism that comes his way - my ‘negative’ stance as you call it is based on the observations I make and I share them for the discussion, I’m not calling him names, not slagging his whole game or contribution, not wanting him sold or over reacting - I mean - it’s not the dembele thread :ph43r:
