I just don’t accept he’s a coward.

I remember him being cleaned out in his first European game for us v Beer Sheva.

He hasn’t been firing on all cylinders at times this season but he’s still made a big contribution.
If you continue to make excuses it won’t change.
He’s a shampooebag. Plain and simple.
Has many many talents but no real fight in him from what I can see..

Hopefully the break allows him a rest and he comes back as his first season self as this season is unacceptable.

Edit: Was it second half when the ball was in the air at centre circle and he basically shat it to go for a header?? I was half pushed by that point so unsure of timing :ffs:
Excuses? Because a few posters have decided that Sinclair is a coward then we should just accept it as fact?

Jesus this 'defeat'is bringing out some absolute shampooetalk. Sinclair never was a big tackler and was signed for his other abilities
No one is asking him to be a tackler. But at schoolboy level you dont get away with being a lapper; why should you in professional football? You think 5ft 2 and 10 stone Messi would have made a half hearted stab at prodding that ball over the line yesterday in fear of taking a kick? Would he hell.... he'd have leathered it. There is a massive difference between flying into tackles and pulling out of 50/50s. Or timidly poking at the ball from a yard out because a challenge is coming in.

Being tackled whilst running with the ball is a wholly different proposition to actually making a tackle.
I’m not expecting him to tackle like Broony, but, shampooing out of it is a joke.
Blinker was derided for one act of shampoobaggery, Sinclair does it every week

I like him and think he’s one of our best players on his day. He’s also a shampooebag. Why is that so hard to admit?

He is strong enough to take a tackle and carry on. He isn't brave in 50/50s and when he can see he could get injured and this has been evident from early on. It wasn't just Scott Sinclair's fault we drew yesterday.

He has contributed more than most in games against the huns since he signed. Every team needs players with various skillsets. If every player in our side's biggest asset was that you were brave enough to fly into tackles we'd be a pretty poor side to watch.

Yep lets compare him to the greatest player the world has ever seen. The ball went inches wide and he was very unlucky. But hey the kds know it alls have decided that he missed because he was afraid he'd take a sore one. Oh and you do get away with it at schoolboy level as you should ffs

No, I've decided. You disagree, fine. There is no consensus. And the point about Messi is purely that he isn't a player renowned for his tackling. But he is brave as they come. You'd never see him pull out a 50/50 or a chance to smash the ball over the line from a yard out despite a challenge coming in. And that has nothing whatoever to do with his ability or how good he is. The irony is, as anyone who has played competitive football will tell you, you have more chance of being hurt pulling out of a tackle.

Aberdeen were right on top of him last week. He got clattered early on, then after that wasn't interested in keeping the ball longer than 1 touch. You can argue if it is cowardly or if it is being clever, but the reality is that when teams are going in hard on you, you need to be willing to take the ball and take the hit. Yesterday he continued in the same vein. On top of not wanting to hold the ball, he was making runs to positions that make it hard for team mates to pass to him. He also stopped tracking runners and marking his man. I have been one of sinclair's biggest fans but if he continues to hide then there is no point having him in the team. If he isn't fully fit then he shouldn't be in the team either. Really disappointing to see a player with his ability having this sort of attitude but it does seem he has previous for it at other clubs. He is clearly a confidence player so we need the management team to get him back to where he was when he first signed, or we need to cash in.

Amount of times he goes back the way now rather than taking on defenders is chronic. His confidence is shattered just now and thats the biggest ingredient a player needs.

He claims 2/3 defenders now are on him ...well training drills and manager needs to get a fresh plan for others in the team to exploit that cause at the moment we are clearly lacking ideas.

Shadow of his former self from last season..he needs help and pronto.

He's probably never had a run of games like this in a very long time. Probably since his Swansea days. He's probably knackered.

nobody held the ball and ran with it yesterday other than Ajer. When Ntcham came on he too ran. The rest were spraying passes anywhere and the hun tactics being on top of us was spot on. We have the one way to play and if it doesnt work our superior fitness normally tells late on. There was no energy yesterday at all and the break has come at the right time.

The earlier YouTube video shows him being wiped out by the keeper for Rogic to score, so it seems to me that he does pull out of some 50/50s but in this case was prepared to risk injury. Maybe if he's carrying a knock he's less inclined to throw himself into a challenge.

I'm not even bothered that he does. He's one of our biggest goal threats and if pulling out of a meaningless challenge means he remains on the park, injury free, I can live with that.
