Not good at all last night, again. Not sure if it's a confidence issue with him, but he's not been the same player this past couple of months. Interesting to see if BR decides to "rest" him for a few games or not.

I would give him a couple of games rest, he probably needs to clear his head.

Thing is when he started off out wide he wasn't THAT bad. He had their fullback and wide players commuted a few times and created space around the box.

The switch inside was a absolutely mental.

one of the things annoying me about him just now is that he has all the pace in the world yet doesnt want to run directly at anyone and use it. A few times last night he had Kara who looked a big lumbering CB isolated out wide and he wouldnt knock it by him and run he just strolled at the same pace? Been guilty of it domestically a lot too.

Agree with this. There was one chance in particular where we just couldnt get the space to get a shot away. Once he moved inside he was anonymous, although still tracking back more than Armstrong at times.

He played well on Saturday but was piss poor last night. Only had 1-2 good games in the champions league this season. He has to offer more for us at this level.

Yep. Was shifted inside because Armstrong was a complete passenger. Hindsight says only Ntcham should of come on at HT and we revert back to our original game plan

He seems to be stuck in a rut. Might be an idea to get him and Forrest to switch sides. Give him a different challenge and make him do something different than just cutting in all the time.
you stick to Star Wars, leave the football to BR.

Went missing last night as he has a couple of times this season in Europe. Sutton has repeatedly pointed it out and it seems like it's becoming more and more pronounced. Then again, he's been playing against some of the best defences in the world, so we can't be too harsh on him. I'm with a few on here that would give him a rest before the shut down. The wing back system we used after he went off last night means we wouldn't have to use Hayes and could offer him a couple of games off.

Scott Sinclair was dreadful last night and it had eff aw to do with him moving inside. Armstrong seems to be getting the brunt of criticism but all three of Armstrong, Sinclair and McGregor were as bad as each other in that first half.

Sinclair has always been a player who can show periods of brilliance coupled with others where he is pish.

Agreed. It is why he has ended up in the SPL at this stage of his career. If he could perform consistently well against decent opposition he might have made more than 18 appearances combined for Chelsea and Man city or not punted by Villa.

Was he definitely told to move to a more central position or did he just take it upon himself? I've seen a few references to it, and the reason I ask is that at one point on Saturday BR was going off his head at him on for doing exactly that, screaming at him to get back out to the wing and then turning to his bench as if to say "what's he playing at?"

Definitely told to. The entire formation changed.
