Hopefully that will give him the confidence to improve on recent months performances, took big baws to take the ball off LG and stroke it away like Chevy Chase in Caddyshack!

He really, really wanted to take that penalty and persuaded Griffiths to let him take it.
Behind the goal and watching him it was written all over his face that he was absolutely determined to bury it and silence the feckers - The game and points were at stake and he knows he has been playing badly and if he missed the penalty he would have incorrectly taken the flak in some quarters for this Invincible record going - A lesser player would have left it to Griffiths to take the risk and possibly carry the can if it went wrong - That was one of the best pressure penalties I have seen and it was also a tremendous hit in itself - That took cojones - He fair gave the Family Club his thoughts on them after he scored - Hopefully he kicks on from now ad we need the real Scott Sinclair back playing.

Cracking penalty and a celebration to match.
Lustig looked absolutely gutted when subbed because of the OG. He'll sleep alright tonight.

Aye. The balls on the mad bastard. Getting a bit of heat for being out of form, not really scoring goals. We're minutes away from our amazing unbeaten streak ending and he stands up, puts the ball in the back of the net like it's effing nothing.
I couldn't have offered to take that pen

Great composure to hit the pen, especially the way he did. Seemed really up for it too when he came on. Deserved it for the stick he was getting, get it right up them. Saturday I think we will see the Scotty we have been missing!

Incredible he offered to take it given how mentally weak he is.
Great to see him ram it up the loudmouths in the family club support.

PANTOMIME villain Scott Sinclair admitted he took pleasure last night in silencing the Motherwell boo boys by converting the controversial late penalty which extended Celtic’s invincible domestic record to 66 matches. Fir Park was in a ferment as the English frontman entered the fray from the substitutes’ bench late on during Wednesday night’s Premiership match in Lanarkshire, a residue of bad feeling which carried over from a suspicion in home areas that the player had gone to ground too easily to win a penalty and see Cedric Kipre sent off during Sunday’s BetFred Cup final at Hampden. But the former Chelsea, Swansea City and Aston Villa player made light of the pressure by stroking his spot kick into the top corner of Trevor Carson’s net and said his critics would have to try harder if they want to put him off his stride. As his manager Brendan Rodgers mentioned on Wednesday night, Sinclair had previously converted a penalty in a play-off final at Wembley in front of 90,000 fans with tens of millions of pounds on the line. “It’s always nice to score after the abuse and the stick,” said Sinclair. “But all that stuff doesn’t faze me one bit. When I step up to take a penalty I am always calm and composed. “There was no competition to hit the penalty,” he added. “Obviously, Moussa [Dembele] is the regular penalty taker but he was not playing and I am No 2. So when he is not on the pitch it’s up to me. It’s all about composure when you take penalties. You have to be confident. It was a pressure penalty but I just put everything that was happening to one side and focused on putting it in the back of the net.” If anything, Wednesday night’s award for a bump by Motherwell midfielder Andy Rose on Callum McGregor after a fine Carson double save was even more contentious than the one involving Kipre and Sinclair at the national stadium on Sunday. Rose said he felt the Scotland midfield had initiated the contact and “flopped to the ground”, although the Motherwell player did at least have a nibble at the ball with his left foot which encouraged McGregor to go to ground. The Englishman even managed a smile when it was put to him that McGregor may now replace him for villain status amongst the Motherwell support ahead of tomorrow’s third meeting of this epic week-long series at Celtic Park. “I’ve taken criticism in the last week?” he said. “People are there to criticise and it’s up to them what they say. But I’ve moved on and I’m looking forward. Is it tough to be branded a diver? That’s up to the critics. It doesn’t faze me. I concentrate on my game. It doesnt make a difference to me. Whatever comes my way I will take it in my stride. It does not bother me one bit. Would it be good if Callum got the stick now? There’s always going to be critics in football. Controversial or not, Sinclair insisted he felt Wednesday night’s award – by the letter of the law – was a penalty and the match was further illustration of the character which Celtic have displayed to compile such a historic unbeaten domestic run. ‘I’ve not seen it back but a lot of the boys were saying it is a penalty,” said Sinclair. “Deep in the team we have belief. When you go 1-0 down late in the game, like we did against Motherwell, it takes character to come back from that. But I thought we created a lot of chances and we showed our character to bounce back. “Every week is tough, not just tonight against Motherwell. Every single week, every team wants to be the first team to stop our run. It’s up to us not to be complacent and we never are. We need to try and make sure we get the wins. Their goalkeeper was great. He made some great saves but sometimes it’s going to be like that. “I still think I am in form. I’ve said before but I am getting more heavily marked this season. Teams are man-marking me or doubling up on me and that makes it more difficult. But I can come up with different game plans to ensure I give my best and keep producing. http://www.heraldscotland.com/Scott_Sinclair

Scott Sinclair has been learning on the double about the game north of the border this season, a surprising admission from the Celtic winger who was voted Scotland’s player of the year by his fellow professionals and also the Scottish Football Writers’ Association last time out. A widespread feeling that Sinclair’s form has shaded is, however, not shared by the 28-year-old from Bath. What has changed following his much-lauded performances in Celtic’s treble-winning season is that opposing clubs have attempted to insure themselves against his depredations from the left flank. “People can talk about me having lost my form but it’s not the case,” he said, ahead of Sunday’s Betfred Scottish League Cup final meeting with Motherwell at Hampden Park. “My form is there but I just feel like I have two players on me in every game. Defenders are doubling up on me. That wasn’t happening last season. I’m getting a player standing next to me for the whole game, doing nothing. “They are making it much harder for me to get on the ball. I’ve got to come up with different things to go forward, create and score goals. I’ve been doing so. The stats are still not too bad but it’s up to me to make more happen.” The stats are indeed respectable, despite Sinclair’s changed circumstances. Last season he scored 25 goals in 50 club appearances and in the current campaign his return is only just below the 50 per cent mark, with 11 goals from 24 outings. Despite having constant company for 90 minutes at a time, Sinclair’s is a solitary role, though he admits to wishing that there was the possibility of an exchange of remarks, however desultory, with his markers. “No one talks to me! Sometimes I want to but I’m so focused when I go on the pitch that I don’t have time to have a laugh and a joke,” he said. “I come away from the game and talk to my friends and talk about how the defender literally goes everywhere with me. I could go right back and he’d follow me, even if I was in goal. “I’m always focused and there will always be one moment. He might man-mark me for 89 minutes and then I’ll get away from him and get the goal.” Sinclair was an unused substitute for the Champions League encounter with Paris Saint-Germain in the French capital on Wednesday night, prompting the notion that he and Stuart Armstrong – another who did not come off the bench – were being held back for Sunday’s occasion. Whatever the reason, there is a case for saying that Sinclair dodged a bullet – or rather, a hail of them – as the tournament favourites followed up their 5-0 win in Glasgow in September with a 7-1 battering in midweek. Sinclair, though, suggested that inclusion in the starting line-up would have been an educational experience. “Yeah, we were playing one of the best teams – they’ll be right up there to win the whole competition, so it’s for us to learn from the best as a team and as individuals. “I’d say they were better than Barcelona. The way they attack with so much pace, the finishing was so clinical – every time they shot it hit the back of the net. “The manager pulled me the day before the game in midweek and said 'Look, I’m going to keep you out of this one.’ Obviously, you want to play in the Champions League and in any game, for that matter.” Indeed, Sunday’s final offers Sinclair the chance to remedy one of his few disappointments last season because, although he played in every tie in the Betfred Scottish League Cup until the final against Aberdeen, he missed the showpiece occasion because of injury. “I went to the game but to miss a final, you’re devastated,” Sinclair said. “It would have been my first cup final with the club as well, but that’s behind me now and I’m just looking forward to this one. I managed to get a medal. When you play every game leading up to the final, you feel part of the victory and I think you deserve the medal, even if you miss the final. “The manager pulled me afterwards and gave me a medal. I’ll still feel like I earned one more this year if I play and we can win, though.” http://www.telegraph.co.uk/scott-sinclair-critics
