Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
So do you have time stamps of what he did without the ball? Runs, dragging men away from others, defensive covering? Do you have an idea of what he was told to do by the coaches?
Yeah. He made one interception and spent the rest of the time chasing shadows. Let's face it he is no Rino Gattuso - his game and effectiveness is on the ball, not off it. If we are to have any chance against the likes of Bayern we can't afford to carry passengers and he was one. You need your best players to step up to the plate; not go into hiding.
Absolute nonsense mate. Were you at the game? Did you see his work when the camera wasn't on him? Do you know what BR asked of him?

He has specific instructions to follow when we don't have the ball. If he wasn't following them and was 'absolutely hiding' he'd have been subbed much earlier than he was. He wasn't hiding at all, players don't get away with it at that level, he simply had a poor game.

That is your opinion. I disagree. I think he hid and two touches of the ball with nearly half an hour gone makes the point. Players of that ability should be demanding the ball and forcing their way into the game. He didn't do that; instead he played on the fringes it. That to say I like Sinclair. Just disappointed he shat the bed in such a massive game.

Didn't see the game the other night so still trying to work out what Sinclair's role was supposed to be.

In the post-match thread it was suggested we were 5 at the back when defending, 3 when attacking.

How did the rest of the system work? Was Sinclair predominantly on the left of midfield, or sitting behind Dembele, or something else?

A couple of weeks ago, people were saying it was obvious Tierney needed a rest and looking at him at one point in a game, he looked as if he'd been carting sofabeds up 16 flights of stairs (before going on another lungbursting run).

He never got dropped and his next game was at Pittodrie and he had another blinder a week later against Bayern Munich. Sinclair will come good, but there's absolutely no point in coming out with Regi Blinker style insults about a guy whose dipped a bit from an incredible season - but still has scored double figures already this term.

He's a quality player. Let's not go overboard with the denunciations.
Agreed.

I actually think he put in a good defensive shift on Wednesday. People go on about him not making any tackles but there is more to defending than that. He helped out immensely by tracking the Munich full backs and forcing them to play the ball backwards.

He will come good.

He should have been dropped on Tuesday, he was badly out of form. The performance on Tuesday wasn't a surprise.

Looks like he has lost a bit of confidence, but then just one wee spark of genius and he can win us a game and be back scoring for fun again.

We knows he has it, not exactly over flowing with possible stand ins...so give him time to get back to his best

Back to his usual Champions League form on Tuesday I thought. It's almost as if he's trying too hard and he loses all composure in these games. Albeit Anderlect away was an exception.

Not a great surface, for players who like to run with the ball.

Not really an excuse for a player of his standard.

Can say that again

First half especially I felt that we didn't use him or Jamesie well enough, but second half when he got on the ball and had chances he stunk.

That said, he certainly wasn't the only one

Very true to be fair - seriously long grass up there

Reminded of the field out the back of my house - we used to call it ‘the field’
