Poor again. Don't think he put in a defensive shift worth mentioning either. I've actually yet to see this defensive protection that people say he offers Tierney. IMO he's caught in field too much.
It was fairly obvious tonight, particularly in the first half. Also clear that he was told to play inside when we had the ball and let Tierney stay wide, but he couldn't get on the ball at all inside, and wasn't showing for it anywhere near enough.

Awful. Just dire. I'm sorry but that kind of effort just isn't acceptable.

Lacked his usual fluency, I think he found it difficult to get going after being left out the last two games

Wasn’t great but were here due to his goals. He’s not really getting a ball out in front of him he seems to be playing very deep. Not sure if this is the order or not.

I wouldn’t mind seeing him rested for a few games.

He really lifted the team and set the standards for what Brendan was trying to do when he first arrived.

But the rest of the squad has now caught up and in some cases surpassed him.

Was awful tonight. Looked like he didn’t want the ball.

Hopefully he gets back on form soon.

Deeply disappointing from him tonight, I get that teams are aware of his attacking attributes and adjust accordingly but he was really struggling to make any impact on the game and we looked a much more cohesive unit after he was subbed.

He'll be back though

Not seeing this great defensive shift - hardly touched the ball in the first half an hour

Rightly subbed too - if he wa shaving a great defensive game - he’d have stayed on
Neither do I. My mate who I was with at the game with said the same thing yet to my mind he didn't make one telling tackle or interception. And going forward he looked a shadow of what we're used to, again Bayern probably sinlged him out as our most effective attacker and did a good job on him which allowed guys likes Forrest ad McGregor to step up

Hasn’t played well for weeks, barely offers anything going forward and typically no cover for Tierney at the back. He needs rested or something as he’s not so wonderful right now

He didn't want the ball, and hasn't done a lot this season. He moves inside too much for what we need him to do, which not only cuts down the space for Armstrong, Dembele etc, but means Tierney doesn't have an outball up the line unless someone else is making the run. It also (certainly in the case of Bayern Munich) leaves Tierney marking two down that side if the ball is switched. Don't think he's ever been particularly good defensively but justified his place in the team by being a major attacking threat. Without that now he's just a jersey.

It's been a disappointing season (bar one or two games) from Scotty so far. Need him to pick it up.

Hasn’t stepped up in Europe the way others have done. Will know himself his contribution in these games hasn’t been good enough.

He doesn’t suit that formation at all, which is a shame because everyone else does. Still expect more from him though.

I thought his so called poor form at the start of the season was exaggerated.

He isn’t playing well just now though, well off the boil the last few games.

I was told last night he wasn't hiding which is utter nonsense. He was absolutely hiding. He was not showing for passes and running about doing nothing on the fringes of the game doesn't change that. He clearly didn't want the ball. I can live with people having poor games as Ntcham did first half against Anderlecht but he never hid; he kept showing for possession and making passes. That takes bravery. Sinclair hid last night and was lucky to stay on the pitch for as long as he did. I genuinely don't mind people having an off night but that performance was cowardly.
