I'm just so relieved we gave him a rest in the League Cup when we did. The difference.

Hopefully, Southgate takes notice.

For Sinclair's sake before there's any wisecracks

Probably good for us but the arrogance of Gareth Southgate is astounding re calling Sinclair into the England squad!

'Hes a good player but we have good quality in that area of the pitch and at the moment I think he is just below the level of what we have already got.'

Wide midfielders.... Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Raheem Sterling, Jesse Lingaard

Southgate has watched Sinclair play eff all football for almost 2 years. Take away the CL games against City and I'd be happy to bet it would be 0 minutes he's seen of him.

Winker.

Leave the floof to it. Hell be back on the telly trying not to look directly at a camera so the world somehow doesn't realise he's got a massive effed up snib soon enough.

No, that's him calculating camera angles. Watch the bastard - he hates that beak of his.

Noticed it when he was doing the punditry quite a bit, and it's annoyed me ever since.

It still puzzles me that he got 50 odd Caps and Steve Bruce never got a single one, he was just about steady as a player, never a big winner and that's what England settle for time and again. Steady performers, steady achievements. Capello, Hodgson, Eriksson were past their prime coach wise too, very steady as she goes but paid the modern thinkers wages.

Since Gascoigne they haven't looked capable of competing to win and I'm not convinced Gareth is the man to inspire any more than the likes of Roy and McClaren.

They'll need to take a good look at the little problem of a quarter of a century without a native Manager winning the League, that allied with the incomparable number of foreign players in both top divisions will continue to hamstring England no matter what else they try to accomplish or invest in other, relatively inconsequential areas.

I agree with all that. I honestly believe you could pick a team of foreign players playing in the Premier league who would probably win the World Cup.

It's where the money is for sure yet the elite players, and I'd include Costa now in this, don't and have never wanted to play there. Ibrahimovich turning up in his mid 30s is perhaps about as elite as they have had reputation wise since Gullit done likewise. Best days behind them.

Spain, Italy or Germany with Munich. No matter where the elite play they will face a far higher volume of home based players than down South. Players who are learning from playing with or against Messi, Ribery or Chiellini. I like what Spurs have been trying to do but elsewhere the situation looks dire.

Easily. Don't know how hard it would be though given their international teams would be seriously weakened as a result.

de Gea

Azpilicueta Kompany Alderweireld Alonso

Kante de Bruyne

Sanchez Silva Hazard

Aguero

Kane, Rashford and Alli are the only quality players they have.

Hadn't seen Bale's goal before now, that's an absolute cracker. Sinclair's looks a bit routine by comparison
