Hope Scott rediscovers his form of early season as hes been a major let down the last 6-8 weeks. Decent with the ball at his feet but hes lost his striking boots somewhere - The chances hes missed over the past while have been shocking to say the least and in big moments in games like against the huns - these are clear cut chances he shouldnt be missing.
Did you bump your head while trying to remove your straitjacket this morning :cuckoo:

He'd be even better if he put away a few more of the sitters he habitually misses...

Getting on a bit

He's not a natural finisher and never will be. It's a ridiculous thing to say considering he's scored 20+ goals from a wide position but it's his movement, timing of runs and appreciation of space/situations that allow him to get into positions for so many chances.

Not as ridiculous as saying he's been a major letdown right enough

With Hayes arriving is this a signal of a change of position for Sinclair?
When Moussa and Griffiths were out he played more centrally. Although there was probably a lot of interchange between the front three in this case. Sinclair less so than Roberts right enough.
Could he play on the right?
Or is Hayes simply back up?
I quite liked how we played without our recognised strikers. Seemed very fluid.
Obviously would always prefer a focal striker.

I didn't . Quite a few of the games was our poorest stuff.
Keep him wide.

I'd prefer him wide too. Just trying to think of reason for Hayes signing. As I said probably back up.

After reading the brilliant Celtic by Numbers piece on wingers, the notion that Sinclair is by far the best player at the club, as so many have said, doesn't stand up to scrutiny. I suspected CBN would prove this assertion wrong.

What are people's thoughts on the article, and do people feel Sinclair's quality has been overstated, bearing in mind his poor stats in Europe in particular?

To be clear, I'm not ignoring Sinclair's contribution last season, just his quality and the assertion that he is by far the best player at the club, as repeated often last season by many.

Rodgers is happy with how pre-season has gone for Celtic but reckons the short break has been tough for Scott Sinclair.

He added: “He’s just getting going again. It’s a psychological one probably for Scott.

“He’s never had just three weeks off and then been straight back into games.

“It’s just him getting going again.

“Like most of the players, none of them are going to be in top, top condition during this period.”

Sinclair himself is desperate to improve on last season — and has been watching reruns of his goals from last season for inspiration.

He said: “When I was on holiday I was looking back over all of my clips and looking for ways to improve. I want to get more goals and more assists.

“When I’m away I am always thinking of bettering myself. Mentally you want to get it right for coming back. I don’t stop at a certain level. That’s the challenge — to get even better.

“Last year was such an unbelievable season for the team and for me on a personal level. It could not have gone better. But that season has gone now and we’ll be looking to do it again.”

Sinclair has also revealed his daughter has been singing the song Celtic fans have for him. He added: “I think it’s the best song in football! It’s such a great feeling to hear it.

“A lot of people ask me if I go home from the games and hum it to myself. I honestly don’t! My daughter loves it though. She dances to it!

“Every time I hear it it’s amazing. It gives you so much confidence. I haven’t had that kind of thing for a long time.

“When you get that bond and passion with the fans it just means so much when you score a goal or win a game.”
