Considering retirement

Sinclair's sheer pace makes him a dynamic player and his game intelligence can be very good when he gets his runs right, and, crucially, if we happen to find him with a pass.

I've long suspected that he is perhaps not the tidiest player in terms of technique. I am aware there is nothing untidy or suspect in his technique when he is curling in crackers from the edge of the box. I'm thinking more in his general play where he can be sloppy in his link up, not that he is alone in that regard.

I think he is a player with a good forward's instinct for attacking play, without having better than average ability to keep the ball or a good football brain.

His penalty yesterday is a good case in point. I think that is his last three now (at least) that he has put in virtually the same place, the last one of which was saved, and this one which probably should have been too. Think he needs to think about mixing that up a bit unless he gets back to hitting the corner well enough to make them unsaveable.

That said, this is all very much nitpicking at a clear candidate for Player of the Year. We are a team transformed because of him above all others in my opinion.

Hope he's not becoming a bit of a coaches pet and unsubbable.Should definitely have been subbed before McGregor today, and a few other games he has been left on in favour of others who were playing better. This is a bit of an irritant for me. No doubt he's a great player for us but there should be no favourites when he's not performing.
I think he stayed on the whole game because of his fitness levels. Even in the last minute he chased down Foderingham at some pace to force him to rush a kick out. He also, in the main, kept Tavernier back and looking over his shoulder, hence nullifying one of their best attacking 'threats'.

I don't think it's any coincidence that the poster on here with the biggest axe to grind with Sinclair is Riddlehouse, who I believe lives in Australia (may have got that completely wrong  ). One of the best things Sinclair has brought to this Celtic team is his movement and runs away from the ball to create space for Tierney and others, which isn't always picked up on TV. There were a couple of instances in the second half where his runs inside allowed space for Tierney to get into (one of them was the pass of the match from Brown). He's an exceptional player and there's no-one in Scotland who is anywhere near him in terms of touch, movement and close control.
Sinclair has been an unbelievable signing, but your last sentence there really is doing some of our other players a disservice.

Maybe. I don't think there's anyone in our team quite at his level, though.

I'd disagree with that. I think Broony's and Dembele's overall contributions have been as good if not better than Sinclair's this season. And I think Dembele and Armstrong would have something to say about being not being "anywhere near" Sinclair's movement; and ditto Rogic and Roberts on touch and close control.

He's a cracking player and through his movement and pressing he has probably done more to transform our way of playing this year than any other player, certainly in terms of setting the tone for the rest of the squad. I could totally understand why someone might think he's our best player, because he's definitely right up there. But I don't think it's fair to say none of our other players are "anywhere near him" on the points you mentioned.

He's just class. Even on an 'off' day he's putting the fear into them and getting a goal.

Honking? However harsh!

Horrendous hyperbole.

Beauty of Scott Sinclair is even if his play on the ball is slightly off, he causes so much chaos with his running. If you watch him live, he is never stationary. Opens up so much space for the rest of the team. 2nd name on the team sheet behind Scott Brown

Great composure for the pen, shame about the sitter but I think we'll let him off with it...

25th goal of the season, and 4th goal against the sevco bigots.

What. A. Bargain.

Great pen but also three bad misses, although one was offside. Although he played well in general.

Not sure how someone making monkey gestures at a person who is faster, fitter, stronger, more talented, evidently smarter, better looking and with (I'd place a small wager) a better looking partner, richer and, most probably in every facet of his life more successful, could be considered a worthy expression of racial superiority.

Obviously racism at whatever strata of society is abominable and stupid. This type of incident seems to highlight the idiocy more though.
