Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I mind Leanne Dempster being quite clear that he was there as long as he wanted to be regardless. She seems the genuine type, but you might be right mate. Always hard to tell in football eh?

RE Yogi I seen him recently saying he thought Hibs was "too close" to him at the time. Perhaps being a bit older and that he'd thrive there this time around.
Maybe Stubbs sees Rotherham as being a better/higher profile for a big club in England to call. Hope Hibs get a good manager anyway as the Premier league could do with them being there.
Not sure about this, but his family might still live down in Merseyside? In which case Rotherham is reasonably close.

The lure of the EPL is always going to be stronger than the SPL. If I was going to take a punt on promotion, with the added benefit of extra exposure, I'd take Rotherham over Hibs. A sorry state of affairs but that's where Scottish football is at.

I guess for Alan Stubbs you'd be thinking it doesn't really get much better at Hibs than winning their first Scottish Cup in 114 years. Presumably his squad is going to be gutted with Henderson and Stokes coming back to us and I dare say the likes of Cummings and McGinn being looked at by other clubs. Rotherham's budget in the English Championship dwarf's the one he operates with at Hibs, and while Alex Neil seemingly struck gold when he got the Norwich job off the back of Hamilton he might be looking at Neil Lennon winning three league titles and managing in the Champions League and having to settle for Bolton.

Still, Edinburgh vs Rotherham :cuckoo:
I guess it will probably come down to money in the end. If Rotherham offer him double what he's on at Hibs he'll be off.

rotherham could probably double his wages,if he does ok for a season or so there he will get a better gig

Personally i don't think he is that good a manager,he has failed to get hibs up twice now. It'll be a straight choice between mccall and yogi for that job.

Potentially good move for Hibs if Stubbs moves on. They really need to get promoted next season and I wouldn't be confident in Stubbs achieving that.

I know the Scottish Cup win was a huge moment for Hibs but failing to get out of that Championship two years in a row despite having arguably the most talented squad in the league is a huge blot on Stubbs' copybook. He's lucky to be getting an escape route.

I think you are right and I think that's his reasoning behind the move.

Yeah I'd agree with that. There's a good reason everyone started using to 'hibs' it as a verb.

Hearts and sevco are better than hibs, that's why they didn't go up

Lennon for Hibs?
I don't think Hibs will go for an experienced guy, someone who wants to run everything. Hibs have got one of those director of football type "structures" in place (George Craig is the guy who does that job). Stubbs was only ever the head coach, officially at least. That would lend itself more to appointing a younger coach. Stubbs was only the U21 coach at Everton before he went there, for example.

Not a chance their fans would accept lennon.

I only saw Hibs twice last season - both against Sevco - and they played them off the pitch on both occasions. At the very least, they shouldn't be losing to Falkirk in the play-offs. And they certainly shouldn't have lost to Stuart McCall's Sevco in the play-offs 12 months earlier. That an awful Kilmarnock side ended up winning the SPFL play-offs speaks volumes about the way Hibs blew it.

Currently sat 12 feet away from John Barnes who has shown up at my work on a euro 2016 propaganda mission.

It's not ruined my lunch so I think I might have actually forgiven him 99/00

Then ask his forgiveness for being racist, as that was the reason he was sacked IIRC (in his mind)
