Cathro will be out on his arse before the season ends
I'm thinking so too.
Don't think Pressley has taken a gig since his latest punting. :hmmm:

:ph43r:
Don't think they will employ anyone who would likely challenge Levein if things aren't going well.

I think Pressley would do a good job at Hearts but I think sooner or later he would have a head on collision with Levein. Levein basically wants a pliable coach to do his bidding. Knowing people who know Cathro it seems he is very good youngsters' coach but not cut out for top management.

Why is Levein not back in management anyway? He was a pretty good manager before the Scotland job.

If Levein thinks he has the 'midas' touch in managing a club, why the eff doe she not just manage the jumbos rather than having someone else front the management team as a 'coach'? :ponder:

Suspect hearts are not minted and rolling about in dosh, so why does Budge bother having Levein and a hand puppet. Seems a waste of money to me but heyho let them feckers get on with it

To date it's worked perfectly, has anyone since Fergus ran a Scottish club as well as Budge appears to have?

Well I think Levein basically is in charge of the day to day running of the club, fulfilling the duties of a CEO,Director of Football, etc etc.

Cathro comes over as a daft wee laddie,a clumsy mix of awkwardness and arrogance
There was a moment in one of his first games when he was trying to get a point over to Callum Paterson on the touchline, and his hands were all over him, patting his arm, hand on chest, and you could tell by Paterson's body language and the look on his face that he was not impressed by the hands-on stuff. These guys are still Nielson's men and Cathro might be going about it the wrong way trying to win them over.

I have a feeling he'll be gone if Hibs beat them in the cup.

As much as I like a laugh at the misfortune of the Diets like everyone else, Cathro has been a manager for seven games.

Fair enough his interviews since his first press conference, where he seemed to specialise in gibberish, can be true headscratchers, and his interview after the Raith match was pure rabbit in the headlights material.

He's lost Paterson to injury, had to re-jig a squad to get rid of the Watts and Muirheads of the world and try and integrate half a dozen new faces.

It's far from certain he'll succeed at Hearts or anywhere, but it'll require much more than 7 games to judge that.

In the short termist Jambo view of the world (where they are booing his team in his first home game as manager), he's probably not coming back from a defeat from the Hibees next month, if that happens.

My BIL coached the Pro-Licence courses for the SFA and said to me, a while back, that Cathro was an utter diddy.

What is he supposed to have done at these courses that made everyone else who attended think, he's an oddball?

I heard Boyd hammer him for how he came across at the pro license course, I thought it was just your typical ex professional footballer outraged at this upstart.

No offence, but it surprised me that so many people thought Boyd, a veteran professional who has played at international level & top-flight club football on three continents- and who has studied alongside Cathro on training courses, was someone who's opinion was worthless on the subject of whether Cathro could struggle to cope with man-management and the dynamics of a dressing-room. Boyd may be a daft guy in many respects but he surely over the years has gained some insight into what qualities footballers respect in their managers.
