I'm guessing McKay has been appointed with a view to replacing Strachan when he finally decides he's fed up getting a paycheck for nothing.
You've jumped ahead of the rest of us there...
I think you may be correct.

Sorry = the hardest word

Chelsea are now 10 games
unbeaten in the league. This
time last year, they were
hovering around the relegation
zone and about to sack manager
Jose Mourinho.

There's lots of speculation
about why it went so wrong,
but there's one interesting
explanation leaking out of
the club. Remember the Eva
Carneiro incident? Shortly
afterwards Mourinho apparently
asked captain John Terry to
get the players in early for
training so that he could
apologise.

Something must have changed
his mind overnight though as
he didn't end up making any
apology. He never regained
the dressing room after that.

I assumed Strachan would have been consulted all the way regarding the new performance director.

I'm a big Scotland fan but finding it harder and harder to keep interest going the way our governing body keeps making a hash of things.

Although, the SFA are as much the custodians of the national side as the Kelly's and the White's were of Celtic I suppose.

Think if the SFA had been looking for a cheap appointment Collins would have been more suited to the PD role than Mckay. At least hes had experience working at youth level

How long is Malky the Racist going to stick at this job? Getting this gig will fast track him back into management. I'm going to give him 18 months MAX before he's back down south with the Scottish game having seen zero benefits. Reeks of blazer back patting here and helping mates mates. Quelle surprise.

Moyes beginning to realise he's made a mistake, "Sunderland always had an appeal to me, but if I had known about the situation I would have needed to look at it in a different way," said Moyes, whose Sunderland are four points adrift of safety ahead of Saturday's game against Watford.

"I would have had to think a lot more about it, because at the end of the day I want to manage in the Premier League.
"I did not know the club could be going up for sale, I was not made aware of that before. I didn't see us having no money [in January]. Even in the summer I knew what we were spending was small in comparison — and I said that to the owner.

"But I hoped it would be a short period and we would then have the next period [January] to get things done. That has shown itself not to be the case.

"I'm disappointed that I will not be able to do some work in January and try and build on what we've done."

I don't think he had any other options in the EPL.

If he turned us down then he made a mistake but I don't believe we even offered him the job. I reckon Brendan was first choice (he certainly should have been our first choice anyway).

That's the public start of the end for Moyes there- it's a 'back me or sack me' appeal. Prepare for Sam Allardyce...

SSN reporting that Russell Slade is set to be appointed as Coventry City manager.

Does this guy specialize in managing clubs in turmoil where the fans are at complete loggerheads with owners?

I may be wrong but I think he's managed the following:

1) Leyton Orient when they were run by an Italian consortium who were using the club as material to make a reality TV show. Cue seething supporters.
2) Cardiff City under Vincent Tan who also had high profile disputes with fans. Anyone in favour of changing the club colours?
3) Charlton Athletic. They're owned or run by some French or Belgian chap or lass (delete as applicable) and the fans have been protesting regularly before, during and after games for ages.

Now Coventry City. Owned by an investment fund who've been asset stripping and antagonizing supporters for years.

Clubs in turmoil, absolutely no blame assigned to him from the media or those in the game, relatively quick sacking, decent payoff, rinse and repeat on to the next club.

Russell Slade may be the smartest guy in the game.
