Boyd was proven correct about Cathro. He said he wasn't the type of personality that clicks with players and he'd struggle because of it, and that's what happened.

A lot of the football nerds on twitter think that management is about acting like a Jeff Goldblum character and having an interest in the NBA and german jargon.

People-skills and the ability to command a room are a prerequiste. One of the reasons Rodgers is so good is because he's a modern football manager who understands the theory, analytics, nutrition, etc. But he's also a guy who knows how to get a room of daft lads to hang on his every word.

Sinisa Mihajlovic looks likely to be fired Sporting Lisbon 5 days after being appointed and before he has officially taken up his post! This is because the club members managed to replace the mad president responsible for the mess they are in, but out of spite he signed up Mihajlovic just before the vote was taken.
Officially gone

9 days in the post. What a shambles that club is at the moment.
9 days in to a 3 year deal, that is going to be costly
I read somewhere that he had not completed a probationary period and it won't cost them to bin him. Not sure how accurate that was but it suggested that they won't need to pay him much.

It's written in the stars that he's going to get a result against they who shall not be named next season. I really hope it happens as the meltdown will be sublime.

Asking for a friend: Jozo can still launch the taper-heided skid mark into orbit if he gets out of his seat, can't he?

Apparently not, they were able to get rid because there was a break option as he hadn't officially started his contract, or something like that.

No they wont. Livingston will sink faster than that hun whose name I can't remember that didn't get chucked off the boat.

As (darkly) comical as the list of ex crims they have there is, I do believe they all deserve the second chance that anyone else gets when they’re released from their sentences
Goodwillie deserves eff all given he has consistently denied it.
Correct. We had this “second chance” pish when we were linked with Flanagan. It was nonsense then, and it’s no better when applied to a rapist.
Goodwillie was ruled to have raped a woman by Lord Armstrong in a civil court judgement.

Three judges rejected an appeal he brought against this ruling.

He can, therefore, be accurately described as a rapist.

*this was a reply to post which said he had not been convicted.

He's 100 per cent correct in what he said.

It just isn't really relevant. Goodwillie wasn't convicted in a criminal court mainly because he wasn't tried in one.

Johan Mjällby has been fired by Gefle, in case anyone is interested in keeping tabs on how our old players are doing.

Gefle are in real danger of dropping into division 1 (equivalent of league 1).

Kilmarnock Football Club is delighted to announce manager Steve Clarke and assistant manager Alex Dyer have signed new improved contracts with the club.

The duo have been rewarded after helping lead Killie to our first top six spot in seven years, finishing in fifth place in the Ladbrokes Premiership in 2017/18.

A number of records were broken over the course of their debut campaign, including a club record points total of 59 beating our previous high total in 2002/03.

Killie’s form saw Steve voted the Scottish Football Writers’ Association Manager of the Year award at a ceremony in Glasgow in May.

Speaking to the official website from our training camp in La Manga, Steve said: "The club approached me at the end of last season and I have a good relationship with the people above me. I think the relationship is strong.

"I was very grateful and pleased that they came to me and offered me a new, improved contract. It tells you that you've done a good job and it shows they have a little bit of faith in you.

"It is easy to sign the contract and easy to take the rewards but the hard bit is that I need to repay that faith by doing more good work for the club and hopefully we can do that this season.

"I'm enjoying the job and I enjoy going to my work day in, day out and when you get that job satisfaction it is great."

Director Billy Bowie said: “The Board is delighted that the club has secured the services of both Steve and Alex on new deals. There’s a real feeling of unity at the club as we look forward to the new season.”

Brilliant news for Kilmarnock. Thought he'd be for the off.

Good for the league as well.
