Rodgers isn't daft. He won't be going anywhere unless he's offered a top 6 job.

Hibs winning the Scottish Cup masks the fact Stubbs had two goes at getting Hibs promoted and failed.

Had the best team in the playoffs twice and collapsed.

Not sure he's a good appointment.
An alternative view is that Stubbs completely rebuilt Hibs' squad after the catastroeff that Butcher left them in, and led them to their first Scottish Cup in 114 years whilst also beating top flight sides along the way.

On balance, I think this is a good appointment for St Mirren.
The St Mirren supporting nephew and niece are both delighted with this appointment....and that seems to be the general view of most of the Saints fans

The Leicester job is the absolute worst option for a guy like Rodgers because after that unbelievable title win they had under Ranieri, everything Leicester do for the next decade at least is going to be an anti-climax. The fact they’re talking about sacking their manager for “only” finishing ninth - a perfectly respectable outcome for a club of their standing - tells its own story.
Don't think they're sacking him for that. I think the senior players are basically running the show there. They got rid of Ranieri and Shakespeare too.

So that's just another reason why he wouldn't go there. BR is very switched on, I think he pays more attention to the state of a club and its inner workings than the English managerial merry-go-round and punditry circuit ridden by the desperate likes of Pardew et al.

There merry go round boys don't give a eff any more. They'd be up in arms if being sacked so quickly was a hindrance, but unlike the rest of the world they're given four years wages when they make a balls of it. It's probably in yer own interest to be sacked three or four times down there.

Oh absolutely, it's probably great being sacked by an EPL club. Big payoff then a few jollies with Sky/BT before the next vacancy appears.

Perhaps there is a bit of a halo effect with him but BR comes across as being genuinely interested in developing individuals and a team rather than being a part of all that.

If in the next three pre seasons Rodgers is happy with investment levels for players from the board he's not going anywhere, however if we get 10 he'll leave immediately after imho

If he's here for the 10 and leaves I won't be sad about that.

Made history and will leave a complete legend and will leave with my best wishes and thanks.

Growing up in the 90s I'm loving this time.
Started with Lennon, then Deila and now Rodgers will see it through.

In his defence :

he was up against a good hearts team first season along with sevco
2nd season was up against a revitalised sevco under Warbsy the magic hat
Lenny would've found it extremely tough getting promoted those 2 seasons too

He didn’t do very well with Porto at his last club job.

If Spain have a bad WC, I don’t imagine the fans will be too keen.

Sacked by Porto for sitting third in a three horse race. World Cup hasn’t started yet so nothing to judge him on with the Spanish senior team. Yet walks into the biggest club job in the world. His bio says he was close to getting the Wolves job two years ago, which sounds more like the sort of level someone with his track record should be managing at.

All the stories about Rodgers going to Leicester, they signed a couple of players just recently, Jonny Evans and a young guy from Porto, a full back I think, so unless Rodgers is going there and he has ordered these signings before he actually takes the job, I think it's fair to say that Puel has signed them.

Don’t think many head coaches of EPL clubs get much of a say over transfers these days.

Most of them are fairly pleased from what little I've read
