Villa are a mess, turning into a 'big' club like Leeds where players and managers go to ruin their careers.

Bob Bradley is a very good coach but personally find it staggering that a team would sack a quoted guy like Guidolin for someone so untested at that level.
Guidolin had a very tough opening to the season with some of the teams Swansea had to play and they actually haven't played that badly. I definitely feel sorry for him , he seems a decent bloke too.

Swansea are going to go down I think, Bob Bradley has very minimal experience in European club football, brief unsuccessful spells at Stabaek and Le Havre doesn't prepare you for a struggling EPL club
Relegation would be catastrophic for them unless they bounced back immediately.

They've got a good enough squad to stay up, albeit they'll be doing extremely well to finish anywhere higher than 15th. The new American owners would be better off leaving Huw Jenkins to run the club as he seems to know what he's doing, although the appointment of an American manager suggests that that won't be happening any time soon.

I've no idea about Swansea's finances, however from reading on here - are they not one of the better 'financially' run clubs in the EPL ?

Anyway, I can't see why their relegation (if it happens) is any way more catastrophic than any other of the clubs that will be relegated this season. :ponder:

Almost 90% of the revenue comes from broadcasting (that's the highest in the Premier League). Parachute payments wouldn't be anywhere near enough to cover their current wage bill.

The Swansea sacking is a joke. Guidolin inherited a squad in freefall last season and led them to a very respectable league position, playing good football into the bargain. He was messed about over the summer with the club taking an eternity to renew his contract and now he's binned after 7 games, most of which were against the top clubs. Bonkers, especially given he's been replaced by a guy with a vastly inferior record.

Swansea fans are not happy about it.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep

I don't know if the 90% figure relates to this year or last, but I can imagine it won't be a 'kick on the @rse' away from most clubs in the bottom section of the EPL.

And like most - (if player contracts have no certain agreed conditions) then relegation will be a bit of a bummer.

They were well run for a few years when they had managers like BR, Laudrup et al, but they had a poor squad last year I would say, then got new American owners in the summer, who seem much less competent at first blush. Bradley did quite well in Norway apparently, but we all know how a manager with better success than that in Norway handled the step up to a higher pressure environment...

Can't see Bradley playing the nice football they were known for in the early part of the decade anyway.

Seems like everyone was waiting for the first one to go. 12 matches he got. :cuckoo:

EDIT: And Warnock is the favourite to take over.

So many joke clubs in England (and Wales) now. Sizeable clubs like Villa, Forest, Wolves and Derby; playthings at the whim of unhinged narcissists who are too busy looking at financial projections that involve being in the Premier League to examine why it is they are not there in the first place.

I'll wager Zenga will be next at Wolves unless things get even worse at Rotherham and Blackburn.

I think he did quite well in Norway and just missed out on promotion in France.

He's compared himself favourably to Klopp and Pochetino.

5 months, 12 games. If Warnock does get the job, he will probably only be there til the end of the season at most, depending on how he does.
