Jack Ross rumoured to go to Sunderland.
Keith Downey saying it’s a done deal and he’s agreed a deal worth 5 times what he’s on at St Mirren.
Surprised it's not more than that, to be honest.

He'll be on, what, 40 grand a year max at St Mirren?

Would think 350-500 would be minimum for a Sunderland manager. Most of the squad will be on millions.

Edit: apropos the above, Jack Rodwell's Wikipedia page
They will need to run a tight ship in League One though. Aye they will keep on getting PL parachute money for a while, but a lot of that will already be spoken for by the terrible contracts they're stuck with (e.g. Rodwell, as you say). So that might not leave them with a lot to play with for new people (players or coaches).

I think your estimate of his salary at St Mirren will be about right. In the year to May 2017, their total wage bill was £1.3 million, and they had about 60 staff. Obviously that includes a fair number of folk who will be on less than a straight average (youth players, part-time staff), but it leaves little scope for anyone to be paid more than 40-50K.

Sunderland are like a real life FM experiment. He does badly and it doesn’t necessarily reflect badly on him, as it’s Sunderland. He does well and he’s hailed a messiah. Plus the small matter of him increasing his salary 5 times over. I want all the best managers to stay in Scotland but can see why he’s leaving.

Robbie Neilson supposedly his replacement in Paisley.

Neilson is a good appointment actually. Think he would keep them up.

It would be. Hearts would be in a better state if they had kept him.

The St Mirren chairman has said this is rubbish. Ross is on holiday unless some kind of skullduggery is going on that he knows nothing about.

Interesting read on Jurgen Klopp on the BBC football page by Spanish football writer Guillem Balague

He discusses Jurgen's early managerial career and his love of the counter press which sounds very familiar to what Brendan Rodgers talks about in his press conferences.

Interview with Jurgen Klopp

Claims he'd like to be at Liverpool until 2022. If Brendan ever decides to go to pastures new I'd have Mr Klopp in a heartbeat if he were available.

A bizarre one. Ross appears to have a good relationship with his board at St Mirren.

Not sure I see him going behind their back.

By the same token, maybe he is trying to get Ipswich to be more decisive in their own pursuit. They appear to be stalling to see what happens with the Shrewsbury manager after the play off final.

In his final season at Man City, Pellegrini looked like a manager on a downward spiral. The fact he’s since been in China with the rest of yesterday’s men speaks volumes about where his career is at right now. Wrong appointment for West Ham.
Didn't he take city to the chamos league semi finals in his last season with City?
