Not really, the fans don't like the football and they don't like him. The team was booed off the park more than once this season after lacklustre performances. It would have been crazy to keep him in those circumstances. Everton are a big draw and have a lot of potential for improvement. They can do much better.
A team like Everton aren't going to be breaking into the top six anytime soon. Even if the football is poor, he has kept them up with little fuss. They were in free fall when he took over. Surely he deserves another season? I am no fan of him btw just don't think sacking a manager for no reason other than the support don't like the style of play is mental. Wasn't that at least part of why Strachan wasn't kept on ?

That will free up more time for Sam to get on with suing the BBC.

Allardyce binned. Don't like him but he seems to have done the job he was called in to do. Not sure if they were expecting him to have them playing scintillating football.
Ah well. Another contract paid up and a pint of wine for Big Sam.
It is crazy stuff from Everton. Also WHU are supposedly going to bin Moyes. Another bizarre decision.

There has not been one game where we have played anything like decent football since he came, and I've been to most of them. Our aspirations should not be to get 8th place in the league. Sam's stole a living from us so now we should bin him (nothing confirmed yet) and get someone in who fire us up to play attacking football. Not one Evertonian wants the Count of Monte Bisto to stay. Good riddance.

I mind Si Hughes calling him that a few months back, any idea of the origin of it? One of the best nicknames around. Mad how the best game you guys played this season was probably the one under Unsworth, just before SA came in. The one he takes credit for!

Granted I think most people would agree that you ought to have finished above Burnley, but surely that's more Koeman's fault than Allardyce's?
The football may well have been crap to watch, but the results were about what any reasonable person would have expected.

Koeman was fecking it up big time - 2 wins out of 9 - 18th in the table which is bottom three so is relegation territory after outlaying the best part of £150m - Allardyce is a piece of work but Moshiri/Kenwright couldn't take the risk of it continuing to go breests up and go down - £5m to bin Fat Sam when he has got you finishing 8th as opposed to 18th or worse is a no brainer in terms of the EPL economics of staying up and Moshiri will not not be gaf what the fans thought of the football for one season as he and Fat Sam knew he (FS) would be emptied at the end of the season.
Hope to feck they do get a good Manager in this time though.

True, but I do recall even the year before when we were champions there were still lots of complaints about the style of play.
Oddly enough Celtic's record of W24, D 10, L4 Points 82 GD+47 in Strachan's last season, 2008-09 is virtually identical to this season.

Hope to feck they do get a good Manager in this time though. I can't recall the exact fixture list but the first nine games included Man City, Spurs, Chelsea, Man U and three Europa League games. Ronko couldn't get any momentum going. By the time he went, we had came through that run of fixtures and were going into a less stressful part of the season. Unsworth was starting to get results, and the team were improving to the point that we were in 13th place when Allardyce took control. He actually contends that we were in the bottom three when he took over, the lying blert. I know that you lads say we should be grateful that we 'escaped relegation', but we were never really in danger. Since then, we have been subjected to him basically bluffing his way through the season and patronising the support. I ask you, as a support very similar to ours in composition (ie fair, appreciative of the game, honest), would you put up with Allardyce at Celtic?

He kept Everton up, fair dos, but I'm sure I have heard him talk about himself in the third person and he was quoted as saying when he was doing well with Bolton that the only reason he wasn't manager of a team like AC Milan or Real Madrid was his name. Delusions of grandeur are part of his makeup. We will never know, but I wonder just how long he might have lasted in the England job.

Delusions of grandeur are part of his makeup. We will never know, but I wonder just how long he might have lasted in the England job. I'm not suited to Bolton or Blackburn, I would be more suited to Internazionale or Real Madrid," said Allardyce. "It wouldn't be a problem to me to go and manage those clubs because I would win the Double or the league every time.
"Give me Manchester United or Chelsea and I would do the same, it wouldn't be a problem. It's not where I'm suited to, it's just where I've been for most of the time. It's not a problem to take me into the higher reaches of the Champions League or Premier League and would make my job a lot easier in winning it."
