He's already proven he hasn't got the mentality to manage a big club. More suited to the relegation scraps the mighty Sunderland will be involved in. Thank eff he "blanked" us.

DAVID MOYES has claimed he snubbed Celtic because he wanted to manage in England again.

Sunderland’s new boss was targeted for talks this summer before Parkhead chiefs appointed Brendan Rodgers to take over from Ronny Deila.

Moyes, 53, has confirmed for the first time that he held discussions with chief executive Peter Lawwell when he was out of work.

But the former Everton and Manchester United gaffer admitted he walked away from the chance to manage the club where he began his career.

Moyes, who was axed by La Liga side Real Sociedad last November, said: “I met Celtic and I know the people very well.

“They spoke to me several times before but I had other clubs this summer who met me at the same time.

“I’ve had opportunities to go abroad but I wanted to come back to the Premier League.

“The League has an exciting group of managers and I wanted to compete against them. But it is the potential of Sunderland that, to my mind, hasn’t reached the heights.”

nowhere does he say snubbed or even turned down an offer.

he spoke to us as the article says but so did roy keane probably and michael o' neil.

typical tabloid pish. if he had his heart set on returning to england
he wouldn't even have bothered turning up for an interview.

I'm not sure he explicitly said what the Scum are saying he said. He probably just wanted it to be 'known' that he didn't lose the job to Rodgers.

I wish Moyes well, and I hope he has success with his new club.

However, relegation hangs over Sunderland like a bad smell, and he has his work cut out. His career and reputation are now on the line.

Utter rubbish from the sun.

Firstly he never said that which they have wrote in the headline. BR was first choice I posted it elsewhere today and had that on pretty good authority. They may have had a word with moyes but BR was who they wanted and job was offered and duly accepted by him.

papers specifically record and sun love doing us over at any opportunity. warbiola love in continues with them

They really do hate our club. Making things up yet again to appease the sevco mob

De Boer supposedly on €2m. Are Inter still skint? That's a lot less than we are paying Rodgers by all accounts.
