Lennon “Nothing lasts forever. I’ve been here 2 years and made great strides. We had a great opportunity (to finish 2nd) and didn’t rise to the challenge. If the players won’t listen to me then maybe someone else should come in and take over.”
Just home but I’m guessing he didn’t take the defeat too well.

If he can’t handle Levein getting one over on him wtf is he going to do on Sunday when Jimmy Nic, Dallas and Madden gang up on him.
He walked up to the hearts fans and was basically shouting “17” at them... the points gap between them :ph43r:

He's a winner but he's a right moany faced basket as well. I accept that he wants to win but maybe he needs to reign in that anger somehow. Especially in Scotland.
I hope he stays as manager of hibs as we need as many good managers as we can get in the top league.

Would you take kindly to staff who had ignored a simple instruction that cost you and your company money? Bamming up hearts fans is neither here nor there. They're collectively fannies and one attacked him at his work. He can hold a grudge if he wants under the circumstances surely?

True but it's not unreasonable to think he wants to manage better players than Hibs will ever have these days. I think he would like a stab at England again perhaps this time with a more stable club than Bolton were at the time. I don't want to see him back with Celtic. He is a decent manager but not in the same class as Rodgers. When Rodgers does go I would hope we would be looking for a replacement of the same calibre. Appreciate that may not be easy.

I'm in no way condoning the player's actions but the way he was speaking to Hanlon didn't look the best. I wouldn't ever speak to my staff like that and wouldn't ever want to be spoken to like that either.

Accepted I've never been a football manager at the top table but others who have say that you can't speak to players like that any longer.

As for the hearts fans, he can bam them up as much as he wants. I've no time at all for them and think they get away with disgusting behavior far too much. If I was in the SPFL I would be having a word with budge as the fans holding onto the ball to waste time and abusing players is appalling behavior.

Oh please.

He isn't going to get a big job in England, if he couldn't get one after celtic its not going to happen. He would be best served by knuckling down and improving hibs. He's totally overplaying his hand with this "I might leave" pish. Hibs are a good fit for him.

It's not clever to conduct negotiations with your employer in public while you are raging.

He was also having a go at his captain on the bench after he subbed him.

I think he lets himself down with that sort of stuff. If he is ambitious, then he needs to avoid it. There is no way an EPL club would risk pish like that.

I didn't say he would get a "big" job in England. A mid table Championship club might well want to take him on. He's still a relatively young manager with ambitions I assume to go as far as he can.

Ridiculous comments from Lennon. Well over the mark.

He'll do well to walk them back enough to appease both dressing room and boardroom.

Absolutely no idea what the thought process is, other than there wasn't one.

A very good picture could still have been painted about their season, even after defeat last night and guaranteed fourth place. To miss that and effectively cast a shadow over a good season that will hang around all summer seems amateurish in the extreme.

That is unless he is quite prepared to walk away and has something lined up. However you've got to think that anyone looking at this would have serious reservations about hiring him after such stuff.

Think Lennon is just playing a bit of brinkmanship with the Hibs board over all this.

There's a good chance he'll lose the likes of McGinn, McGeough and Allan over the summer. Add in his two main goal threats since January, Kamberi and McLaren are only there on loan, you can see the potential scenario of him losing the guts of his team this summer and the need for a substantial rebuilding job.

If he's not going to get the funds to do what he wants then he might be better getting out now rather than regressing next season and beyond. That being said, I have absolutely no idea where he would go if he did leave in the next few months.

Lennon’s showing himself up a bit here. Saying 4th isn’t good enough when at the start of the season he said he was aiming for top 6.

Love him but come on?

How else is he going to work with better players ? Not in a mid table championship side.

He made a total arse of himself last night, His inability to look at himself and take responsibility has always been his weak point.

A mid table Championship side will have far more money and probably better players than Hibs,at least of equal ability. It also would be a chance for Lennon to increase his profile in England. If he did well perhaps an EPL club might take an interest. I'm just speculating all this btw!

I agree with your last paragraph.
