He's joining in the summer because we're in the Champions League Final and he's thinking 'eff that, I'm away to watch it with BT Sports'.

I guarantee if we weren't in Kiev in a few weeks, he'd have started as their boss now. He puts Liverpool before everything, always has and always will. Can't see it lasting.
He’s starting in the summer because they can’t afford to employ him now. The two fannies in the dugout now will have to suffice until season ticket money rolls in and the mythical huge investment. Eff all to do with any love of Liverpool otherwise he would still remain a Liverpool employee.

If we scored 10 goals against them in his first game against us I wonder if he would survive that?

So they can afford to give him a 4 year deal, but can't afford to pay him from now until the summer? Which is a few weeks?

He's starting in the summer because he won't want anything to do with the current set of losers which is kinda understandable.

If they started him just now and he got horsed in his first 3 games the feel good factor would have taken a hit before all of the season ticket renewals were in. They now have 2 whole months before he needs to show any sort of managerial ability.

I'd give Gerrard 18 months tops. Once the euphoria dies down and reality bites it will be a swift descent. A Scouse customer of mine told me yesterday that the rumour is he is looking to take Gareth Barry to the CrumbleDome. Scottish football quakes.
I would be astonished if he lasts 18 months. They are going to need to spend millions in the middle of the park to even get near us in one off games. I do t think Gareth Barry will get anywhere near Broony and the Boss

That's true, I think Stevie is under estimating the SPL here. He'll probably bring in a few of our youngsters/fringe players and think thats enough to at least cement 2nd/challenge Celtic in a few games.

There's a few players I can see going up there on loan, could pick a few out of;

Grujic
Ings
Solanke
Curtis Jones
Mignolet?!

First game will be at Celtic Park. Good for us to set down a marker in front our home crowd.

You really don’t have a clue about them, do you? They are currently rooked. They may or may not remain that way but Gerrard being appointed is based on what will be coming into the coffers rather than what is sitting there now.

People in England still look on Rangers as huge club, Gerrard seemingly one of them, but right now they are Motherwell with a bigger fanbase.

A huge welcome to football management Mr Steven Gerrard M.B.E., I sincerely look forward to your swift and certain progress to join the hall of legends of management.

Bryan Robson - M'boro, Bradford, WBA, Thailand.

Alan Shearer - Newcastle.

Paul Ince - Blackburn, MK Dons,

Tony Adams - Wycombe, portsmouth.

Maradona - Argentina

Souness - Liverpool, Fenerbache, Southampton, Newcastle.

Gascoigne - Kettering, Boston Utd.

Boby Charlton - Preston North End.

John Barnes - Celtic, Tranmere.

I suspect Gerrard is being happily used to attract as yet untapped areas of potential finance.

He is cut out to be a very famous has been who will be a never was.

Bon voyage mon brave. Not.
