I dare say more reliable versions of this squirel...er...story will be found in LFC fans' forums and their local media outlets. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if Gerrard's sitting in front of the telly just now, watching the football, blissfully unaware that he had been "locked in talks" with "a Rangers delegation headed by Thingy Whatshisname", and had demanded he be appraised of his warchest before taking over.

Strange thing happen in football, alright, but I can't see such a cautious character leave one of world football's most illustrious clubs - a club he has spent his entire life with, bar a few months, and which is enjoying a renaissance - to join that freak show. Even if it was to be a purely a cynical move on his and Liverpool's part, for him to gain some management experience at the huns' expense then return to Anfield, there would be many more stable options that he could have a fair go at while having breathing and learning space. He'd be on a hiding to nothing - WTF needs that? (and that's without even mentioning what a Catholic street kid from Liverpool would know about that mob).

I confidently predict it's utter pish

I can see the Gerrard link dying a death and then a leftfield cheap unknown like Caixinha be announced. Imagine the rage...
Maybe they'll get Girard. The French coach who won the league with Montpellier, the team playing in blue and orange. :lil:

We still wouldn't have won the league like you say that was a very good Huns team & we had tons of problems as a club that MON fixed.
Probably not, but it’s Harsh to say Barnes was terrible when losing Henrik was such a blow to the team.

It’s funny how these things pan out.
Aye, Barnes wanted to sell Henrik to fund his next load of shampooe signings.

He was shampooe.

Period.

Getting on a bit

Things were fine when all was going well with Barnes.

First sign of trouble, he had no idea how to deal with it.

It panned out as badly as well all knew it would.

The fact that he hasn't gone on to have a career in management says it all

I believe there is things outside of football that we keep us away from Clarke.
Is there any way that this could be even slightly elaborated upon? Unlikely, I know.

I suppose it's possible that Gerrard did meet up with King while the GASL was down in Liverpool - no harm in having a chat I suppose. Doesn't mean that anything will come of it though. If nothing else it probably allowed King to blag a freebie ticket & hospitality at the big game.

2 cracking players in their respective days but they don’t strike me as a mob who can take a punt on managerial rookies at the minute.

In a sense yes, although we had Dalglish there as a contingency; granted he didn’t perform as we would have liked but there doesn’t seem to be any ‘mentor’ figure as such here.

I presume the Huns are now saying they never wanted him in the first place ?
