says he's waiting on financial assurances before accepting the job.

That will be that then

Without checking, I am still pretty sure, that if appointed he would be the first Zombie/Hun manager to have a daughter called Lourdes!

Gerrard. Magic.

There will soon be a bit of boxing in Mother India when the manager fails to put a bit of Phil Collins on the stereo. :boxer:

Would that be 3 Celtic supporters as Manager in a row?

With him being at the 3-2 game & King at the 5-2 CL game, are they clutching at straws, or is there something in it?

Gerrard dodged a bullet with MK Dons. They are also run by a "character", one who has made plenty of big statements and has now led them to the lowest tier of the English Football League.

Perhaps his ego will override the smell test, but him and the people around him should be more than adequate of sizing up the Arthur Daley nature of His Glibness.

I love Gerrard so I would hate rooting against him but can't in any way see him being anything other than a huge disaster if he's hired.

I thought Gerard was a Celtic fan? I remember watching a clip with him saying how as a kid he always had a Liverpool and Celtic kit..
Agent Stevie here to secure the 10
I am a Celtic fan, and given my lack of football management skills, I would love getting the job at the zombies.

I would love to see this. Just imagine the sheer comedy train-wreck potential ...

Not getting my hopes up though as they'll probably end up with someone boring who actually has some managerial experience.

But just imagine ...

Are these folk nuts? Surely a man with a bit of experience of managing a fair sized club
is what's required, not another experiment/ punt?
never learn.

If Gerrard was to get/take this job I predict a catastro-eff of biblical proportions. He's not even that hot as the Liverpool u-20s coach.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
:ponder:
We had good players under Barnes and still knew it was gonna end in disaster
To be fair to Barnes, up until Henrik broke his leg our league results were

5-0 Win V Aberdeen
3-0 Win V St Johnstone
2-1 Loss V Dundee Utd
2-1 Win V Dundee
3-0 Win V Hearts
1-0 Win V Kilmarnock
2-0 Win V Hibernian
7-0 Win V Aberdeen

4-0 Win V Ayr in the League Cup

Our European games up until the leg break were

6-0 & 4-0 Wins against some welsh mob
2-0 & 1-0 against Hapoel Tel Aviv

And then Henrik breaks his leg away to Lyon, a game we only lost 1-0.

We didn’t really know just how good Henrik was becoming. He was a cracking player, but wasn’t yet the messiah he would go on to become. All things considered, that season could have been very different had Henrik not broken his leg. Larsson and Viduka up front for a whole season may well have saved Barnes given how good we were functioning before losing Henrik.

Viduka wasn’t mentally cut out to lead the line and he was up against a very strong Hun side.

He really wasn’t doing a bad job for a while.

We still wouldn't have won the league like you say that was a very good Huns team & we had tons of problems as a club that MON fixed.

I can see the Gerrard link dying a death and then a leftfield cheap unknown like Caixinha be announced. Imagine the rage...

Probably not, but it’s Harsh to say Barnes was terrible when losing Henrik was such a blow to the team.

It’s funny how these things pan out.

Larsson scored 38 goals in Venglos' season. We knew how important he was. And if Barnes was a good manager he'd have been a success elsewhere.
