I love Lenny. I was 100% behind him getting the Celtic job when he did.

I don't want him back.
Agree with that till last sentence

He's matured and come thru a lot of crap to deliver

And to see him smoke a cigar on day we do 10 in front of north stand would be superb :worthy:

STEVEN GERRARD is in talks to become the next Rangers manager.

SunSport can reveal the Liverpool legend is being lined up to replace Pedro Caixinha – seven months after the Portuguese coach was sacked.

The sensational move would see Gerrard go head-to-head with his former Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers in Glasgow.

However it will also raise eyebrows among the Ibrox support with Rangers seemingly set to turn to a man with no previous managerial experience.

Following his retirement from football in 2016, Gerrard has been coaching Liverpool’s under-18s.

The Gers job would represent a significant step up.

But it’s understood the former England international isn’t daunted by the size of the task or the challenge of restoring the club to its former glory.

Talks between all parties are said to be ongoing, but SunSport understands a deal is close with director of football Mark Allen leading the Ibrox delegation.

Gerrard would be an incredibly stupid move, even by their standards. They are crying out for an unfashionable, experienced no shampoo taker who can primarily make them difficult to beat, grind out results and build a bit of a siege mentality.

Gerrard is the complete opposite and represents a massive, expensive gamble. A big enough name to create a bit of interest in the league and lure the gullible bastards in again though. I'd be happy with that.

There would be no greater risk than the one Gerrard is taking. Logically speaking this job is a no win for any manager at this point therefore ego is the only remaining excuse for taking it.

His managerial career could be over by October.

It'd be a John Barnes-esque appointment for them.

Genuinely can't see it happen, they'll be after Clarke.

They probably assume Gerrard would take a load of Liverpool players on loan. I hope he takes it as he will get no time to settle in. Another season of change on and off the park. Big name doesn't mean success, could be John Barnesesque if he takes it.
Still it's season ticket renewal time.

gerrard as manager sounds like more of an official tie up with liverpool where they send the best young players up to ibrox to play in front of 40k crowd as part of their development for liverpool. decent young team for minimum outlay,

I like Gerrard and would hate to see him become embroiled with that shower of filth. I really don't see this happening. Far too risky for both parties I would have thought.

Bears not happy with this idea. For obvious reasons apart from lack of experience.

Burley, Lambert, Moravcik, Berkovic, Viduka, Larsson.

We still knew Barnes was going to be an absolute disaster.

This would be on an industrial scale of madness for the Huns.

I agree. It could be a black mark against Gerrard's managerial career early doors and could also be another disastrous appointment from the huns point of view.
