Given time, Jack Ross seems like someone who'll eventually be a candidate to take over at Celtic.

He and Rodgers have a good relationship as well.

If Brendan goes now it's Lennon's job if he wants it surely?
Wouldn't mind Lenny back at all. Fitba had it's moments at times, but with a better starting squad and a bit more professionalism behind the scenes, you'd think he'd get the type of team together that he wanted this time, rather than making do with what was appearing at training.
I think the way we are set up now it would be easy for Lenny to step back in. He’s still got his GK coach and physio from before. He knows most of the players and maybe with the help of someone like strachan he can push the board to back him like Rodgers. Would be interesting to see his coaching staff this time around.

I'd imagine it would be Parker (still) , JFK and Brown promoted

He really should shut up & be glad he's leaving with plenty goodwill considering he's been living off former glories for years.

There was a great thing on the other night about his feud with SAF. He was ultimately put in his place by SAF, same with Mourinho.

Arsenal should have acted years ago.

:cuckoo:

I have found the "love in" a bit tired as well.

He should have been papped 3/4 years ago at the very least – I’m being generous.

Yesterday’s man. The full new diet, booze ban, new passing style and changing the club physce/mantra was relevant to a point. Mid 90’s to mid 00’s he was up there..then died a slow death.

His stubbornness, lack of team bite and over passing with no real steel has been evident for years.

Fergie more often than not got the better of him as did Jose.

Agreed.

His side from 2003 would still be right up there today, which make things all the more puzzling.

Vieira, Petit, Gilberto were key players for him & players like that are still vital today. His refusal to sign players like that in recent times makes no sense.

Didn’t Lenny leave Celtic because of a lack of transfer budget? Can’t imagine it would be any different if he came back.

Lennon left in protest at Mjallby getting sacked and having Deila thrust on him as his assistant was the story I heard at the time.

Was at a charity dinner two days before he left that Lennon did a Q&A at and there was no inkling that he was for the off, he was discussing transfer targets, players pre season arrangements etc :(

I think Brendan will leave Chris Davies and one or two of the backroom fellas when he leaves. Been going on about building the club etc - wouldn't make sense for him to root up the full staff. Would maybe mean we're going to take the Southampton route in future - Brendan sets it up, then whoever comes in in future fits the mould and slots in. None of the changing style with each new guy patter.
Sorry but that has to be absolute utter and total bollocks

You really think anyone here would have Chris Davies as our next manager :cuckoo:
it hasn't done much for Southampton this season either

Southampton have tended to go external for their manager anyway. Even just quoting the last six: Adkins, Pochettino, Koeman, Puel, Pellegrino and Hughes, all external to the club at the time of being hired.

So who should Arsenal have got who would have put Fergie and Mourinho in their place.

It may not translate to success for arsenal, but as a manager he changed football for the better, and he kept Arsenal not just relevant, but a consistently strong side for 20 odd years.

I agree he should have left sooner, but he shouldn’t be criticised for not getting the better of 2 of the 3 most phenomenal managers of the last 20 years. (Pep being the third)

Arsenal should have taken a risk and made the change sooner, but it wouldn’t have guaranteed anything that Arsene already did.

I’d prefer Clarke, but wouldn’t mind seeing how Lenny would do with a bit of money to spend.

I believe there is things outside of football that we keep us away from Clarke.

Huns on the other hand are pretty keen.

Would he go to the Huns?

Surely it would be better for his career to go back down south unless he is wanting to stay in Scotland of course.

Cheers Mikey. Not that it stops people becoming huns, but he was regularly touted as a”right guid Sellick man” in the 80s when we were linked with him.

Given that, and the state of the huns, I presume he’d look at every other option out there. Though someone on here did say that he’s happy to be in Ayrshire for family reasons for the time being.

Id only take Lennon back once we get to 9.

If Lennon won the ten, I reckon there'd be swell in the River Clyde with the amount of them jumping in it.

If Congerton is actually a total weapon, I might prefer Lenny or Clarke a bit sooner. :ph43r:
