Pellegrino sacked at Southampton
Can see them enquiring about BR. They had success wth our players in last few years. Don't think he'd be tempted
He'd be a great appointment for them.

Not happening though by any stretch.

They’ll appoint someone who’s not currently in a job.

Is he an arsehole?
Grade A.

For instance, his sons were always at the academy of the clubs he managed, despite not fulfilling the selection criteria. And at Nice, he gave them professional contracts after they had failed every trials. He also gave them a lot of game time although they were clearly not good enough for Ligue 1. When Lucien Fabre took over, he punted them, like Martin O'Neill did with Rafael. One has retired at 19, and the other can't a game in a struggling Ligue 2 club.

That's just an example.
Having a dad in the business is a great thing in football. Paul Dalglish’s CV shows he was on the books of Celtic, Liverpool and Newcastle United - three of the biggest clubs in the country - yet his ability level was always strictly Scottish lower leagues at best.

Reckon Marco Silva has retained just enough of his unearned credibility to get the Southampton job. No way Brendan is going anywhere near them.

I still think Silva will end up at Everton this summer.

I agree and there are also plenty examples of where the son was better than the father.

Is it not about time for McLeish to chuck it after that disappointing squad, and the lure of the EPL?

I don't mind fathers helping their children to cet a job, but the way Puel did it actually ruined his sons' chances. The younger is now without a job and a degree.

Not a chance of Rodgers walking away from the opportunity of winning a second treble to take charge at Southampton. Even if they come in for him in the summer, he’s shown zero interest in managing any English club below the level of Liverpool. Pretty sure his next move will be abroad unless an Arsenal or Chelsea-type opportunity came along, which it almost certainly won’t while he’s managing in Scotland.

He's reported to be close to agreeing a two-year, £1.8million a season contract with Benfica.

So Hughes could conceivably take two teams down this season given that Stoke are still picking up the pieces from his dismal end to his time there.
