I think the SFA should be congratulated on a visionary appointment. I posted on here when the Nations League format was announced, we could pretty much have a free skoosh at Euro 2024. Good to see the SFA think the same.

Didn't Scotland beat France under Eck? I don't remember his previous spell being all that bad, considering
Aye. And they got hosed by Georgia in a must win game to go through.
Same as Strachan then.

When that alternative was Gary Caldwell, they should have kept Strachan.

Just because Scotland ended up with one numpty in charge doesn't mean they should have stuck with another in Strachan.

It really wasn't an either or situation.

The SFA thought they could attract an average manager. An average manager on the up but an average manager all the same.

They were wrong.

If they offered Clarke what they were offering O'Neill Clarke would be the Scotland Manager- McRae who Sheep fan or not is also a hun wanted McLeish and gave it to him.

Bottom line - no Chief Exec McRae gets his pal in.

Disagree . You can't put into words how ridiculous, or nepotistic this decision is. No wonder people are going off on one.
McLeish, is a horrendous appointment but the reaction by some has by way over the top.
What an oxymoronic sentence that is.

He’ll be sacked halfway through the next qualification campaign after it becoming mathematically impossible to ever qualify for another tournament ever again.

What happened under McLeish last time (wins or losses) is irrelevant. He’s been out of the game for years, appears barely able to string together a lucid thought or sentence, and has zero credibility whatsoever. The worst appointment possible and I expect Scotland to be roundly pumped by most teams they play under his command

Coyle's made a rip-roaring carrot of every gig he's had since Burnley. Surely punditry or obscurity now?
