There's a magnificent photo of Broony lifting the Scottish Cup last May with McRae seething in the background. I can't find it though. That makes me sad.

Aye. That struck me that day too: he looked visibly miserable when we were lifting the cup.

The boys who run videocelts certainly aren't fans, https://videocelts.com/tag/alan-mcrae/

The cup final one is in a link in the "Celtic fans react to McRae" article.

Is he not an Aberdeen fan ? I would stress I'm making no case for the guy's position at the SFA but if I had just watched Celtic lose a cup final in injury time, I'd find it difficult to have a cheery coupon.

He did an interview after it in which he said Celtic doing another treble would be bad for Scottish football.

The carrot is an arse.

As I said I'm not making a case for the guy - if you read my posts the exact opposite in fact. McLeish is a desperately poor appointment by two guys (Petrie in all) who are totally out of their depth.

But if I'd just watched my team lose an injury time goal to resulting in their second cup final defeat of the season, in all honesty I couldn't pretend I was having a good day.

Fair enough, but he didn't attend the game as an Aberdeen fan.

Look if he was booing Broony as he lifted the cup and giving him the vickys then I could see your point. Having a long face when your team has just lost a cup final due to a last minute goal is not something I would hold against him.

Competence, freeloading and the impression that the game is run by the same type of folk who organise bowling clubs is however another matter. On this, I suspect he is very guilty.

The appointment of McLeish (and you can add cronyism to the above list if you listen to his speech) is wrong on so many levels

I mean it's clearly a terrible appointment made in a panic after O'Neill told them to bolt.

That said there's a few in here being a shade melodramatic.

As an aside McCrae was also the one who incensed Celtic fans by saying Scottish football is nothing without a strong Rankers to challenge Celtic. It also includes incensed Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs fans trying to make out that they are not a proper challenge to Celtic. He might be an Aberdeen fan but a true hun at heart. I used to support Scotland but can't be bothered with corrupt masons in the SFA. Let's hope none of the bhoys get called up and if do hope they make their excuses.

The McLeish appointment is just so short-sighted. He was most likely the guy McRae wanted in all along, and after the embarrassing knock back by Michael O’Neill especially after such a public courtship he’d be delighted to get him in.

I’m not even sure how much truth was in the Walter Smith approach by the SFA. Was very media driven.

Scotland will continue to habitually fail to qualify for tournaments until the luddites at the top are cleared out.

Yip, being an Aberdeen fan wouldn't explain why his face was tripping him when Hibs beat Sevco in the Scottish Cup final. He's a Hun.
