Heard him on rs this evening. Constant mentions of players playing in the premier league being available to him.

Not a mention of cl or players playing in Europe.

Let’s leave him be and hope he forgets about us

Paranoid conspiracy or what!!!

With this ridiculous appointment, we can now look forward to call ups for Kick Everything McCrorie and Master Bates in addition to Dorrans and Jack being recalled, which all helps the masonic cause in increasing the value of this useless foursome when it comes round to getting rid of them in the summer.

We can also look forward to Armstrong, Forrest and Griffiths getting dumped by Big Feck to restore the Scottish team to its Hun traditions.

these are the guys running Scottish football? I feel sorry for players like Teirney, mcgregor and other youngsters who will have their international careers stunted by having this clown calling the shots.

Finished with watching Scotland now. We are a total laughing stock.

It doesn't really.

Only on here do people think playing international football is some big boost to a players value. The team they're getting caps for is never taken into consideration.

Most teams wouldn't give a eff if McCrorie is getting a game for a woeful Scotland side. It doesn't add anything to his value. If anything with this clown in charge the players valuation will plummet with the regular pumping's that will be dished out.

How clueless an appointment McLeish is, is exemplified by the fact he was third choice after Walter Smith.

Now Smith enjoyed success in Scotland domestically and his record at international level is not bad.

BUT he has not managed or been in the game for 7 years. And his success both domestically and at European level was built around strong centre of defences and parking the bus. When Rangers got close to a CL final in 93 or the UEFA Cup Final in 2008 it was built around players like Gough or Cuellar and having nine defenders behind the ball. Scotland have no centre of defence worth talking about. Smith simply couldn't use those tactics effectively and that was the one real weapon he had as a manager.

To have somebody who runs Cove Rangers so heavily involved in appointing the national manager is the equivalent of the Chairman of Telford United having a big say in who gets the England job.

And as for Rod Petrie - have folk not noticed his track record ?

This appointment is embarrassing and reeks of utter desperation!
It reeks of out and out hunnism. I'm raging at this as I have always followed the fortunes of the national team. Appointing the right manager,, to me Steve Clarke is a stand out, to develop our young talent is an appointment jumping out at you. Make no mistake this is the last stand of old style unionist rule in Scottish football. I will not put a penny into anything relating to the national squad and I would be delighted if no Celtic player turned out for them. There is not one player on the Sevco team worthy of a Scotland jersey. Wait and see how many get the call now. Anything that they can cling onto to give them hope.

The last flicker of interest I’ve had watching Scotland was when WGS decided to field 6 Celtic players and made Scotland look like a team.

That little spark has now been completely snuffed out by the appointment of a bloated hun dinosaur. Listening to him speaking on my car radio tonight was utterly horrific. He had the temerity to list his experiences in England and Europe as proof he could do a job. Feck me, what the hell has he done to qualify him for this job?

This numpty will drag Scotland to new depths.

Abysmal fix.

This appointment is part of the ongoing EBT cover up.

McLeish needs to pay HMRC £900K for his EBT.

His 2 and a bit year contract at £400k p.a. almost exactly covers this quantum. How terribly convenient.

McLeish once admitted his teams gained a sporting advantage by EBTs.

Is this the price for him to shut the feck up and never admit this again?

Dodgy as feck,seriously dodgy.

Pished stained blazer n brogues jakeys doon the ludge. Even the goat was embarrassed at the shameless grift and corruption.

Big Ebt, Peter Grant and James McFadden.
They will think they are covering all angles there. Eck for the huns. Pointer for the tims, and a recent national team cult hero for the tartan army 😂😂

I don't even think the hun angle is the riding force here. You only need to look at the nick of the carrots in charge, the state of that press conference the other day and the way the whole association is ran to know that anyone with half a brain who was asked just burst out laughing at them.

It’s been totally driven by McRae, getting one of his mates a job. It’s a short sighted and predictable apppointment, but also the idea that McLeish will just stop picking folk like Tierney is frankly ludicrous.

Mentioned this before - But my dad (dead 30 years) followed football from the early 50s. He always said that if Scotland ever got a major tournament the SFA would spend millions on the big launch & end up having the draw in a pub using a sock.

Not just McRae, you can bet the shirt on your back Ferguson had influence in this appointment too. Indirect influence of course.

I know the SFA is the governing body for all levels of Scottish football but what on earth is the chairman of Cove Rangers doing in such an influential position?

(On second thoughts I think I know the answer!)
