Petrie pushing big feck for the job. A well matched pair.
Lawwell being proved correct again.
This was always on the cards. Get rid of the man who decimated McLeish then bring the Cat in himself.

It's almost as if they've given the big man plenty of time to get himself back on track, he looked a effing wreck on television earlier in the season. The fans that wanted rid actually deserve him, what the eff did they expect?

Stubbs is a decent enough manager. He should not be the new Scotland coach though.

Stubbs? Ooft.

I think there is a manager there with Stubbs, but it would need to be proved at club level again. Hasn't even been exposed to the Scottish top flight, never mind anything else.

Even at it's lowest ebb, I don't think you fill the Scotland job with a guy who has not worked for 18 months having been sacked by Rotherham.

As for Jack Ross and Barnsley, unless they offer a severe wedge - which I really doubt - he'd do well to avoid. They are a third tier club destined to be back in the third tier next season. Think Robbie Neilson, that ambitious man now hunting after dinner gigs in Edinburgh, cos he went to an utterly scheidt English club.

Barnsley have just been bought over by a consortium including a minted Chinese fella and the guy who invented Moneyball.

Like a glut of other clubs that are destined to be cannon fodder. They are hardly the equivalent of Villa or Wolves, or anything like it. They are also third bottom of the Championship, in the relegation places, and on one of the worst runs of form in the league.

Barnsley is also a hell hole, and they seem to have spent a lot of time not in the top two tiers of English football. Fair play if that is the extent of his ambition.

As I say, taking that job would allow him to count the high point in his bank account, when in about year's time, a bit like Robbie Neilson, he's inevitably been launched. No doubt it was also a great move for Robbie.

To get them into the EPL would seem to be the obvious answer. If Huddersfield/Brighton etc can...

Might be better doing it on Football Manager rather than as an actual football manager instead then. Because that seems a lot more realistic.

I had a friend who was a Barnsley supporter and he really enjoyed their year in the premiership, although he fully knew they were only there for a year.
I seem to remember that they endeared themselves to lots of other supporters by their attitude that year.

His favourite Barnsley player was none other than Ronnie Glavin, who he descibed in terms of skill I couldn't really believe.

S.F.A should just appoint Kenny Sheils to show how utterly incompetent they are.

It would be Bilic for me. Proven at international level with Croatia, fairly decent record with a team who you could argue are like a Prem League version of Scotland.

But there is absolutely no chance in hell the SFA will even bother considering someone like him.
A Catholic? ;)

Problem you have now is that whoever they offer it to next they will know they are third choice behind a guy who's been out the game for years and the northern ireland manager who was clearly playing them for mugs.

A complete shambles.

John Hughes’ interview on Radio Scotland where he threw his hat into the ring for the Scotland job was a rambling piece of comedy gold.

Sometimes I'm not sure if laughing at John Hughes is ok or if it veers into ableism.

The man is an utter buffoon. His interview was astonishingly, hilariously bad.

Expect him to be given a four year contract by the SFA in the next few days!!!
