Who is running things at the SFA now that Regan has gone? There are two obvious candidates in Lennon and Clarke but neither seems to be in the running at all. Why are they looking at guys like Smith and McLeish who are long past their best when there are two viable, relatively successful managers who could be tempted by the Scotland job? I know that there are serious cultural issues within Scottish football but I didn't realise these issues were terminal.

Raman says running order is The Cardigan :carrot: ,McLeish :carrot: ,Clarke and Bilic.

So the two favourites are the two who walked out/away from them when in the job before.

Bilic would last about two games before telling them to feck off - Clarke is the best candidate but they will try for Smith.
I’d rather give it to Giggs.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
It would be the height of incompetence to not ask Lennon or Clarke.

Welcome, Stuart McCall.

McCall and Smith. I can see it.
They'd need a token ex-Celt for 'balance'.

What's Kenny Miler up to?

Smith is not so much a backward step but more of a backward triple jump.
They'd be as well exhuming the remains of Willie Ormond.

The most over rated individual in Scottish football who peaked in the 60s when he was a pish defender alongside Doug Smith.
Opinions on the SFA being interested in him aside, what a load of absolute bollocks.

Alex McLeish - seriously ?
Steve Clarke may end up in the job, might be a case of being in the right place at the right time. He has done a great job at Kilmarnock in his short time there with pretty limited resources.

Not one for conspiracy theories but, Funny how Michael O'Neill was the only candidate interviewed for the job ..
How many obstacles were put in his way to make sure he " didn't " take it ?
Then all of a sudden .. surprise surprise... Walter's name is back in the frame, & Favourite for the job..😬

Nonsense. They don't do walking away. :suspect:

Any chance we can just stop the national team for a while until there are better options in a few years?

If it weren't for the fact we are talking about the people running Scottish football making a decision, it may have been possible to convince me the suggestion of Smith or McLeish was just a joke. However, we are talking about the people running Scottish football...

The sort of backwards step we do not need.

EBT recipients bring mentioned for the Scotland job on STV. One being talked up by another EBT recipient. Only in this country.
If Smith gets the job, safe to say whoever takes Regan's job won't do any more to go after the huns who cheated the Scottish game for years than he did.

The Greatest Defender in Celtic's history was at the Diet huns game. ;)

He isn't going to get it but he not surprisingly is trying for it.#Gary will tell the SFA when he wants to take the job!!! ;)

Walter fecked off when his beloved came calling, and was completely exonerated for it in the media.

McLeish fecked off when Birmingham came calling, but still enjoyed a freebie on the SFA.

eff them both.

Neil Lennon for me. He would be ideal.
