The SFA should release a statement questioning his bottle and use the word concomitant.

Regan has to go now, and if he can take that clown Doncaster with him, all the better.
Agree totally but Regan is pretty shameless

Agreed. Especially as they were following the Sevco handbook on how to appoint a manager. It's all contained in the next chapter.

Think that's good news for Scotland fans. Hopefully they aim a bit higher.

Given the nick Scotland are in, it was a bit of a bizarre sideways move anyway.

I could never understand what Michael O'Neill saw in the job anyway. At the absolute best, being as charitable as I can possibly be to Scotland, it would have been a sideways move.

They should be aiming higher than Michael regardless, they had a better Manager in place for starters and, along with the fans, made an arse of it. A few months ago they were headed in the right direction, now they are totally rudderless and will panic.

Broadfoot's increasingly amateurish looking narrative about not wishing to waste money via an earlier appointment sums the whole fiasco up. If your PR man is scoring own goals like that what hope do you have?

I don't think it will get any better.

O'Neil was the ceiling and they will probably give it to Malky the racist.

Hopeless. Not convinced by him anyway - certainly didn't want him anywhere near the Celtic job.

However, Scotland made it clear they wanted him, although why it took months just to reach this stage is utterly baffling. They've been told to feck off by what seems to be the only show in town and it paves the way for Malky Mackay now to heap further embarrassment on them.

Utter arseholes.

Surely they are not going to give it to McLeish?

I have no idea if Michael O'Neil would have made a good Scotland manager or not, but spending that time chasing him, to be knocked back, is ridiculous.

would Kilmarnock release Steve Clarke from contract to take the Scotland job?

Let's not just blame the incompetence of the SFA, most fans wanted Strachan gone. Unlike the player threads where we are dealing with unknown quantities much of the time everyone should be fairly knowledgeable on who they think can do a job for their national side. Folk wanted Gordon gone but even the fans baying for blood knew that there was no replacement of any quality or experience to come in.

IMO, Steve Clarke would not want the Scotland job.

He's doing well at Kilmarnock and will be a candidate for any bigger club jobs that become available if his reputation continues to grow

Giving how long this took only to be rejected I really cant see the SFA doing anything other than appointing someone they know will take the job.

Mackay or McLeish. They wont want the risk of being rejected again.

Not that I care much, but an utter embarrassment for the SFA.

Regan is a serial failure, he's botched every single key deliverable of his role.

Strachan had to go. Give Strachan another campaign and another "Lithuania at home" or "Georgia away" was always round the corner. The failure to play players in form whilst playing the likes of Barry Bannan means that failure was always more likely. If we can't offer a better package for an International manager than Northern Ireland then things are seriously wrong.

Agreed that they had a better manager in place beforehand, not that I rate Strachan that much.

Just don't feel like ONeill would have done well. I think someone else can do better. There's a core of decentish players there. Watching them all shuffle to play nine at the back and then boot it up to some Lafferty clone wont bring the fans back.

Good luck to the sporranistas in there new search.
