Northern Ireland don't score a huge amount of goals. That is probably obvious when you are relying on Connor Washington and Kyle Lafferty. But it is a bit of a myth they are stuffy and bullish. They largely play a 4-3-3 and they like to get it down and play. There is no launching it forward to a big striker. Davis's control of the ball in a massive influence. If Scotland do get O'Neill they will likely be more attacking then people think.
Absolutely, but I still think his priority, as it should be, will be to make us hard to play against and hard to beat and then build on that.

Agreed - and that is what he did at NI. He needs to get some time. Northern Ireland were prepared to stick with him even when he had some really terrible results early on. If he is appointed Scotland have to give him a contract and the assurance that he will get to see it out no matter what.

Can't blame him for being unwilling to enter the Nine Circles of Hell (otherwise known as Stoke!)

Rowett & Flores couldn’t be more different - Stoke clearly have no idea.

When the usual names are taken, the EPL sides don’t half get in a flap.

Surprised McInnes hasn't been touted for this job yet.

By SFA standards MiON is a relative coup. On form they'd go for someone at the arse end of their career, or someone with 1 club sacking too many. He's on an upward trajectory and they'll do well to get him. So fair effs to them if they do.

He has done amazingly well at Shamrock Rovers and with Northern Ireland. He is miles better than most candidates.

I actually think there are some decent raw materials to work with in Scotland, Centre of defence is always a problem but with good organisation that is an area that could improve.

Best thing would be if the Tartan Army could just accept that performances don't matter in International Football and we make ourselves really hard to beat and take it from there.
Some folk might say the same about Celtic in Europe :ph43r:
Others may just be surprised to hear they (both) were prioritising performances.

Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson described the standard of refereeing in League One as "appalling" following their draw with Plymouth.

Ferguson claimed a "blatant penalty" was not awarded by referee Andy Haines in the dying seconds of the game.

Asked by BBC Radio Sheffield what he would like the FA to do, the 45-year-old responded "shoot them".

Just read the full interview there.....He actually makes some decent points, but he has blown it with the "shoot them" comment! He will get hammered for that and rightly so. He has just jumped in with both feet
