What a player. :worthy:
So they say... From the limited games I saw of him he was pretry good, not great. And yes, I saw him at CP.
I read that as "poetry good" - which wouldn't have been inaccurate btw.

I liked the look of Hughes as a manager when he was at Blackburn, but his career has just seemed on a downward spiral since. A handsomely paid downward spiral at that
Hughes made his name as a manager during the 5 years he was national team manager for Wales.
Rejuvenated them and paved the way for Chris Coleman's success

Swansea appoint Carlos Carvalhal days after he was sacked by Championship Sheffield Wednesday.

Another weird appointment.
I think they missed a trick not getting Pulis, unless he turned them down of course. Must have come down to a choice between Carvalhal and Monk for Swansea maybe :rocker:
rumour down here is Monk was secretly negotiating with Swansea while he was manager of Boro . Boro found out and booted him , Swansea didn't want to be seen as bad guys and went elsewhere

He was, smoked like a lum too. Wasn't brilliant the night we played Zagreb at CP though, I agree.

Yeah Gary Speed didn't do a thing :ffs:
There is more than a decade between Hughes leaving the Wales job & Coleman taking them to the semi finals of the Euros.

That said Hughes did a brilliant job for wales, beating Italy, got to the play off for Euro 2004 in the process & if I remember right they lost to the Russians who had atleast one player banned for using performance enhancing drugs.

History has been rewritten slightly because of what happened, Speed managed Wales for 5 competitive games & was in the job 11 months. He made improvements after Toshack but it was nothing on the scale of the job Coleman & Hughes did.

I was at the home leg of the playoff v Russia, and if that Wales team had got through it would have been criminal. Whether or not the Russians were drugged up, the Welsh were absolutely shampooe. They were also shampooe in the other game of theirs that I attended in that campaign, against Serbia. I suppose they must have done reasonably well in the other group games to have come second though.

Maybe we did miss a watch with Moyes, took points off of Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal. Seems to have got the defence working anyway.

I doubt even the most optimistic West Ham fan saw their run of results coming when Moyes took over. Don't think they exactly rolled out the welcome mat for him when he arrived.

He's a total arsehole. Behaves like a wean when things don't go his way. I can't separate him from Porto. Has no class whatsoever. Give me the MON/BR way every time, showing respect for the game and fellow managers.
