A good move for all involved. Lennon gets the chance to rebuild his reputation at one of the bigger clubs in Scotland, Hibs get a manager who knows the Scottish game inside out and who was previously very successful with us.

I suspect Neil's thinking that if he does well and Rodgers makes an erse of the Celtic job, he'll get another chance with us somewhere down the line.

Wasn't Parker first team coach at Celtic as opposed to assistant manager?
Yes but Hibs couldn't afford Mjallby.

Butcher relegated them, Stubbs won them a long awaited cup and Lenny might just be the man to bring them back to the SPFL.

Good luck to him. Don't think his reputation will be that badly damaged as some are suggesting should he not win them promotion.

Also, if we're ever looking for a replacement for Lawwell in the foreseeable future, we could do worse than sound out Leanne Dempster.

We could also do a lot better.

Well done the Scotsman who have managed to find, from God knows where, two smiling photos of Neil Lennon 😀😀
Boo's all round to the Herald though who have published two scowlers and one Mona Lisa-esque enigmatic smile Lennon ☹️☹️😬

I'm utterly ambivalent about Lennon but I think a promoted hibs would greatly improve the top division. Good luck to them.

Really hope Kilmarnock go down (if it can't be the Huns due to the rule change)

Superb appointment by Hibs. Hope he gets them up, if he doesn't his reputation is toast.

I think Lennon taking the Hibs job is a very strange move ..... hiding to nothing and if he flops he is utterly unemployable

Is a second tier club in Scotland really his level.....and if it is, how did he ever get our gig ??

Or is he taking it in the basis he will not be managing against us and hopes its only for a year and he has an escape route down south

I wish him well
agree

from a successful Celtic manager to manager of a lower league Scottish side via the crackpot of a club that was Bolton in 2 seasons

terrible terrible career trajectory

probably his last chance to rebuild his reputation - fail here and there is really no where else to go

wish him the best of luck

I actually think it's quite an intelligent move, one that demonstrates that he's motivated by more than his salary. I'm quite sure he's aware of the risks if he fails, but any manager is arguably walking that tightrope regardless of what job they're in.

Bang on

If and when PL moves on she should be one on the list

And if after bringing european glory and rebalancing our squad BR moves on then LD can bring back Neil

And Neil will deliver the

Mjällby is a manager now himself in Sweden.

Stubbs got a Championship club after failing to get promoted twice. This isn't a crazy move by Lennon. I'm 99% sure he's taking this job cause he thinks he'll be well placed to come back to us one day.

i wonder what other jobs lennon was offered when he left us

was bolton his only option? i'd be surprised but it was a mental move at the time. did he take it to stay relevant?

his career trajectory does seem quite strange, perhaps people in football either don't like him, or rate him or perceive that he has baggage, though the only baggage he really has is being hounded by huns and arseholes

i hope it works out for him at hibs but i'm not convinced it will. i reckon falkirk could be the team to beat this season

either way, it's an ambitious move by hibs and, as someone above said, kudos to leeann dempster for getting the deal done. from the outside, she has done a great job at hibs after doing a great job at motherwell. i'd have no problem with her tripling her money to become celtic chief executive in the near future

Best of luck to Lenny. There's no reason for the shampooe some Celtic fans are giving him. He left the club at the right time for the club and for him, whether he felt it was right or not.

Get Hibs up, reestablish them in the top flight as a top 6 team, maybe even win a cup.
