West Ham will make a mistake giving it to Moyes.
They will.

However, they've got plenty of previous for not bothering to do the hard work in identifying the right player/manager, and instead just plumping for a "name".

Moyes just went to the wrong club at the wrong time. It was an opportunity he couldn't turn down and it's ruined the middle part of a very good career.

He needs to stop going to crisis clubs like Sunderland or West Ham and build something from the Championship.

I was actually looking at their previous managers all the way back to Redknapp as it was on the BBC website, they have had some absolutely terrible managers

This story seems to have come from the McLaren camp. Shame, it would be another expensive disaster.

Who cares who the manager will be anyway ? Dave King is 'penniless' (according to his own lawyer), and Saint Craig still has to claim his floating charge over the clubs assets following his legal takeover (now proven).

There's plenty more entertainment to come both on and off the pitch.

As soon as he said "This team are champions, they don't need much change" I knew he was done for.

That Utd team that won the league the year before wasn't great at all and seriously needed change in midfield. It was always going to be difficult to follow Ferguson and tbh Ferguson never left a top quality squad to take over however Moyes still blew it.

Mourinho's record against the top 6 away from home is bloody awful. 10 games and 1 goal. Averaging out at around 1 shot on target per game

Given the resources he's had at both Chelsea and Utd, that is pathetic.

Moyes achievements with Everton are over played once you actually look in to it.

Yes he finished 4th one year, back when there was a top 3, Arsenal, United & Chelsea & 4th spot was won in different seasons by Liverpool, Newcastle & Leeds. Liverpool. They went out of the Champions League & Uefa Cup in the first round the following year.

11 years with Everton, no trophies & 1 final when guys like Martinez, McLeish, Redknapp, Juande Ramos & Schteve McClaren won something.

Yet Ferguson though this guy was fit for the biggest job in British football, if he'd retired in 2003 it'd be like giving Joe Kinerar the Man United gig.
His move to Man Utd didn’t come out of left field though. He was routinely linked with every major job in England and it was considered just a matter of time before he got the chance to move to an elite club like Man Utd. It’s easy to look at his Everton stats years later and say his achievements there were overplayed. But at the time, pretty much everyone was of the view that he’d done a terrific job for over a decade in an era when managers were averaging two seasons at the most before being sacked. He earned a crack at the Utd job. It’s undeniable though that he messed that up and has since made two really poor decisions in going to Sociedad and Sunderland.
I think the Man Utd job was a big catch22 for him. He couldn’t turn it down, but it was no surprise that he flopped given the hangover from Ferguson, a weak squad and a new C.E.O who struggled to do business.

It looks like the Man Utd job broke him a wee bit, which is a shame as it would have done the same to most others.

Not how I remember it when he was at Everton, Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham & Liverpool changed managers multiple times & never once was Moyes mentioned for any of those jobs.

They won the league by 11 points & should have put Real Madrid out of the Champions League quarter finals, a ridiculous refereeing decision gubbed them.

I'm not sure McClaren is at the stage of his career where he can be choosy. He's assistant to a team in Israel. Sevco would be a decent job for him to get.

Let's hope he does. It'd be a effing disaster.

Agreed. He'd be another chump to underestimate the gig in Scotland.

McInnes would likely have them somewhat competent and organised by next season: just by knowing what's required for the league.

Can you imagine Mclaren getting it. The smuggery would be off the scale as he landed in the little Scottish backwater of the Scottish premiership. The car crash which would develop as we skelped them would be delicious viewing.

At one point McLaren was looking like becoming a decent manager. That was a long time ago, however. His time at Newcastle was a disaster.

He’s done pretty much nothing but pick up severance cheques since his first spell with Twente. If he went to Sevco they’d be looking at another payoff inside the next 15 months (and he’s had plenty of practice in this field so they won’t be able to fleece him).

EVERTON HOLD ALLARDYCE TALKS
Everton’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has held discussions with former England Manager Sam Allardyce about the vacant managers position at Goodison Park.
It’s thought Allardyce could be given the job till the end of the season if Moshiri can’t get a so called “big name” manager
We understand Moshiri has also targeted a top European coach and a Premier League manager to replace Ronald Koeman, who was sacked last month
Current interim boss David Unsworth is also being considered, but no decision is imminent, and talks with the various parties are ongoing.

West Ham clearly moving for Moyes before he’s snapped up by Sevco.......
