Will they go back in for McInnes?

Fat Sam linked with Everton as is the Wolves manager
They ended up with Grayson because the club is in all sorts of a mess financially. Unless there’s been a massive change behind the scenes McInnes would KB them again. They’ll end up with another lower league journeyman.

McInness would be an improvement & he'd close the gap but he's not going to displace us as champions.

With what they've spent compared to the rest (excluding us) there is no justification for them being 30 / 40 points behind us. If you gave McInness the cash that Warburton / Caxinha pissed away, the sheep would be about 15 points closer to us than they were.

I don't know why anyone thinks McInnes would be an automatic improvement. Managing Aberdeen is one thing, taking hold of that rusty bucket is another.
Just as many players can't handle the weight of playing for a bigger club, so it goes for managers. McInnes gets away with murder at times with Aberdeen in terms of performances and consistency of results, the kind of space he just won't get at the huns. They'll expect him to win and win immediately.

I think he has done a sterling job at the Dons, don't get me wrong but to suggest that naturally equates to assembling a much better hun team is wide of the mark. They're a mess, whomever comes in next will need some time but as is often the case, the noose is shorter for the guy following the failures and the huns are now three duds deep in managers.

I still think their best move would be for a guy like Murty, someone to stabilize and manage expectations for a bit and then appoint someone who can elevate them in a season or two. Gladly, they won't do that, they'll go for the biggest boaby flash they can afford, ramp up the battle fever and come crashing down like a fat wean the morning after Halloween after about two dozen games or so of sweaty, pulsing rage from the Broomloan.

They're effed.

I think Grayson was Leeds' ninth manager in ten years or suchlike. That's the way the sevco are headed (5 in 5?).

Edit. 7 in 5 I forgot about wonderkid *2

I reckon he's in with a shout. No half decent manager is touching that position and with Bain the hire n fire guy then StayPuft seems the obvious choice.

Would work well for him - Sign a contract knowing you are clueless and have no chance - Get binned after a few months and get your pay off - Kerching!!!! he can afford a new landscape gardener to save himself having to do it. :ph43r:

Seems an unnecessary gamble on their part when there are good managers like Jim McIntyre available, who know that division inside out.

Depends on who is doing the linking - is it sources close to Sunderland or is it sources close to McCoist? He might just be putting his name out there as someone available and interested in running a club into the ground managing again

Laszlo worked at Hearts with David Southern, who is now 'Director of Making a Spectacular James Hunt of Things' at Dundee United. Hence the link.

Still surprising.

I think they wanted Stubbs, which I believe would have been good for them. Despite the fact that Stubbs couldn't do for Hibs in two seasons what United would need him to do in seven months - get promoted.

They are in a terrible state, but the squad arguably exists to still be the best of that particular Championship pile.
