Hibs fans on the news seem chuffed. "He'll retain the cup, get us promoted and pump the Jam Tarts again"
2 faced bastards.

A couple of interesting comments from Roy Keane:

Keane - Owners prefer coaches with white teeth and a tan

He's always good for a quote.
Well if it's a problem he should brush his teeth regularly and sit out in the sun for a while.
Sounds like Roy's hurting that Brendan got the Celtic job. :ph43r:
He had his chance. Turned us down then proceeded to tell Everycarrot about it at any opportunity.

Tough shampoo. Houston Dynamos awaits.

Keane telling us his managerial record is sketchy. Really Roy? More like youre a dud so shut the hell up and prove everyone wrong with decent run as a manager if you can find a club willing to put up with you and your constant whinging.

And why why why would any owner/head of club just "leave a manager alone" instead of managing the performance of the manager. Tuned to the fecking moon. Not being wired up right will be his downfall in management.

Good luck to Lenny. I said when he joined Bolton that he'd need all the luck in the world; With hindsight, I don't think even that would have helped him.

He's going to a good club where I think he will be backed. I hope to see him back up in the top division before too long.

I really hope Lenny does well but I fear he's on a hiding to nothing. He will be expected to win the championship, anything less will be considered failure and he's not going to emulate last year's cup exploits.

Let's hope he does the unthinkable and takes Hibs to the group stages. I'm glad he's not managing Hibs in the prem at the moment. Sevco probably hate Hibs more than us at the moment and with Lenny being their new manager the abuse will be off the scale.

Good luck Lenny and stay safe.

That's the flip side. Were he not to get them up even through the play - offs he'd do his reputation a hell of a damage.

I'm sure he will though. Good luck to him.

Very surprised and highly impressed by Hibs' Board, they've just issued a massive statement of intent. They would probably win the league with another of their Deila-style punts or a Largs Mafia appointment but have dug deep - both financially and in having the balls to stand up to Scotland's bigots. Neil will power them into the SPL.

Keane only really played under 2* managers at club level, Clough and Ferguson. He won't have had much exposure to managers that are truly answerable to their board.

*I'm not including his time with us because it was so brief.

I read today that even before a new manager had been appointed Hibs have sold around 1,500 more season tickets than the same time last year - about 8,000 - and are confident of breaking the 10,000 mark. Hopefully a wee run in Europe (it's probably unreasonable to expect them to reach the group stages) and a good start to the league season will keep the feelgood factor going around there.

By the way, the season after next could be a real cracker if Lenny gets Hibs promoted (which I'm pretty sure he will). You could easily be looking at an SPFL with us under Rodgers, Rangers under The Magic Hat and strong Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs sides managed by really good young managers.
Are Aberdeeen sacking McInnes ??? ;)

Must confess to being somewhat surprised that Neil could ever manage another club in Scotland.

Best of luck to him though (apart from against us obviously)

I heard Tony Mowbray applied for hibs job. I know things went a bit south with us but I always liked him as a manager and a man. He would have been my first choice for hibs to be honest.
