The Guardian:

"Scotland are set to play a high-profile friendly next month, for which they will have Malky Mackay in charge. Sources at the SFA have stressed, though, that their current performance director is not a candidate to succeed Strachan permanently."

Malky it is then.
Hopefully no Celtic players involved in that - ideal chance for a break

Given that you only need to finish third in the group to qualify for the Euros, Allardyce would be a dead cert to get us there with his solid, safety-first style. It wouldn't be pretty to watch though and he'd leave absolutely no legacy in terms of playing style.

No matter what manager that are put in charge of Scotland he has to hope that some decent central defenders pops up somewhere/somehow - Mulgrew and Berra aren't the ones that you build your team on - can't really see any ones out there, unless you move Tierney to central defense. Ralston might be up for it in the future, but are years away from playing there on the international stage

Should Michael o’neill decide he wants to be available he’ll be able to pull himself something far more attractive than Scotland.

It’s Malky’s job, just depends how long the sfa want to pretend to be hunting

Michael O’Neil would be a good appointment.
he would but they wont go for him and without being close to it cannot see him biting. Why leave a country that you were born in and have been very successful at doing your job.

He gets all the plaudits across the water where expectations are limited

Good appointment but cannot see it

I genuinely feel if allardyce got the money correct and the commitment from our side it would be a good shout but due to him getting caught out our self righteous leadership would not give him a glance
I’d imagine Scotland could probably pay him a bit more than he’s currently on and sometimes, realistically, that’s all it takes.
He knows the time to leave Northern Ireland is now when he is on a high.Scotland is a step up and he lives in Scotland so I think it would suit him.It would certainly suit us.

Alex Neil working at the moment?
Yeah. Preston manager.
He'd be my choice.

Doubt it'll happen or that he'd be interested but the SFA should certainly be asking the question.

When I see the list of no hopers being lined up , it makes me start to miss the good old days under Strachan!
Some of those listed give me the right collywobbles.

Well up for big Sam

His determination to get it up the FA would be a massive benefit as well

While we can't probably actually deny his nationality, it's a bit shameful that Malky MacKay is even associated with anything that purports to represent our country.

Moyes is a Strachan clone. Stubborn and fixed on nonsense team selections to satisfy dated ideas.

I'd genuinely take big Sam though.
