Literally HAD to go.

Arrogant and stubborn both campaigns. Was shot down on a other thread about him not being arrogant(because he shed tears for late great TB) but rest assured decisions and "you lot dont know how i think cause i know better than any if you "was his downfall.

Dinosaur along with mcghee whos best days were 20 years ago. Just glad to see him bolt to be frank.

Who's next.. feck knows... Hiddink or Sam for mw probably the later. Gets results and players seem to engage in what he preaches so that says it all.

He never committed mass murder so for me a man that has gotten the job done at all levels he has managed.

Allardyce is interesting but is there not something fundamentally dodgy with regards to numerous allegations over a period of years? Panorama documented activities from the Bolton days. Is the SFA maybe the right place for him? :hmmm:

was going to allude to the same thing. he was treated pretty badly by the fa in the end but he brought a lot of it on himself.

at the end of the day regan would probably bung him to play certain players or he'd get punted.

You allude to a point that means he won't get it they at the SFA think their pooh smells better than anyone else's which is utterly ridiculous considering they are the leaders of our game and kead us into one catastrophe after another. On that point alone i dont think he has any chance after what happened 18 months ago. Oh the itony from them

They are the ones who should resign and they are they are ones needing to be destroyed and built from scratch..but it wont happen.

That pleb regan is aa vocal as feck about anything but watched over 3 yes 3 campaigns now also appointed leiven 😂😂

Utter charade and reads like a carry on film. He has led the country through the rotten mobs demise and trumpeted there new tribute act whilst trying to take on pistol pete and the stripping issue... he has some balls as a famous italian American organisation would say yet stays on

What a setup and what a mess

Nudge wink aside I can foresee a Championship/League One select of players all born in Lancashire lining up for Scotland.

If he is sensible enough to stick with the Celtic theme he could do very well. When he had good players like Okocha and Djorkaeff his side was a lot of fun to watch.

I'd like to see us appoint a guy who would build something, ditch the non performers & get in some younger or less well known players.

One of the best things Strachan did was pull Anya out of nowhere to score against Germany.

Get rid of the tried & tested, who have bags of experience - in failure.
Blood a load of new guys, who are there but never been given a chance - due to the old pals routine.

Fulham midfielder, Tom Cairney should definitely be given a run, as should McGregor, McGinn & plenty of others.

It's a disgrace you are right but adding extra baggage won't clean anything up. I don't think I'll ever see integrity from the SFA in my lifetime, they are a effing joke.

Whilst I think Strachan got us playing better than we have done in years and the team spirit was great and results generally good, his stubbornness with player choice ultimately cost us. If he had shown more humility and willingness to change, I would have been happy for him to stay.

Not sure who I would have in his place.

I honestly try to be positive about all elements of Scottish football but this full set up is obviously local to me and as corrupt as their big brothers at UEFA and FIFA albeit smaller scale and i personally like to see my national team do well.

Pity blazers and committees are only interested in themselves

Michael O’Neil would be a good appointment.
he would but they wont go for him and without being close to it cannot see him biting. Why leave a country that you were born in and have been very successful at doing your job.

He gets all the plaudits across the water where expectations are limited

Good appointment but cannot see it

I genuinely feel if allardyce got the money correct and the commitment from our side it would be a good shout but due to him getting caught out our self righteous leadership would not give him a glance

The Guardian:

"Scotland are set to play a high-profile friendly next month, for which they will have Malky Mackay in charge. Sources at the SFA have stressed, though, that their current performance director is not a candidate to succeed Strachan permanently."

Malky it is then.

Needed to happen but still Won't make a blind bit of difference. Strachan was only a problem at the the bottom of a long list of a million. If we begin now, it will take 15 years to be a real footballing force but with those prehistoric bastards at the SFA, nothing will change. Nothing.

I’d imagine Scotland could probably pay him a bit more than he’s currently on and sometimes, realistically, that’s all it takes.
