Neil Warnock.

Everyone would hate him at first, but I reckon he would be success.

He understands what being the underdog is like and has multiple promotion under his belt.

He gave me a nod of approval once when I walked past him wearing a Celtic shirt so he isn’t a total carrot.
No, no, no, no, no

And

NO.

McInnnes has a wee pop about Shinnie not being picked which is fair enough given some of the keech Strachan has picked in his time - He then says Shinnie is the best back in the country!!!!

Right you are Derek.
I'm stunned that he doesn't play the best full back in the country and full back in his own team.

Tit.
club manager in talking up his player shocker.

Will probably be in the minority but I'd be happy with Sam Allardyce, certainly better than most of the names being mentioned. Preference would probably be for Michael O'Neill, but not sure if this is the sort of move (mainly due to the incompetence of the SFA) he'd be looking for as the next step in his career.

his managerial career has consisted of:

a league cup at hibs
losing the dressing room at hibs and losing the boards support
a holiday in belgium
a failed stint as dof at livi
his time at celtic which i do not want to relive for a second.

actually, he sounds like the perfect candidate!

It's funny how things can change so quickly in football. I wanted Moyes to get the Celtic job when Deila left. I felt he would give us the organisation that we'd lacked under the previous manager. His time at Sunderland suggests he's on the way down, and that his pragmatism is actually just a lack of imagination.

I'd like Scotland to get a manager who can bring out the best in the current crop of players, many of whom are able to play in a system that involves quick passing and interchanging positions. Moyes won't give us that. Realistically we'd be looking at someone like John Collins if we wanted to go down that kind of road. I appreciate he's loathed by some on here - never shared those sentiments personally - but at least he's interested in progressive football.

A nice compromise between a Moyes and a Collins might be someone like Neil Lennon. He had us playing good football at times but is tactically canny - especially when we were the underdogs. He knows the Scottish game inside out too. Can't see the SFA appointing him.

I don't think it matters who we get. Until there is a complete clearing out and revamp at the SFA, nothing will change.

Might need Francis Galton to sort the mess Strachan has left.
Hardly a mess.
I'll be taking my highbrow humour to the Janefield Street forum.

I agree with Browny, they were doing okay, he effed it with that genetic patter for me. Think they'll go backward unless they pull off a miracle appointment.

Ramjam Bawbag on STV said the SFA felt it was time for a fresh approach and fresh thinking. If that's so then we're in for a real surprise! John Collins or Alex Neil would fit that bill, in so far as they're not Largs Mafia and have a notion towards playing decent football, but the usual suspects are just that - the same old, same old - so it might be a real, left field appointment!
