The only Scottish coach I would have went for is Alex Neill, younger more progressive than some of the rest, you could build a tower of mediocrity from the remnants being quoted.

In saying that haven`t been able to give much of a toss about internationals for 20 odd years so Stuart McCall`s a good bet for the hard of thinking blazers.

Aye, right decision.

As others have said, get Regan to eff now

Regan is a symptom of the disease, not the disease itself.

The boys club blazers are where the real problem lies. These carrots couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.

They could (and do) bleed the brewery dry though.

Davies is always up for it.

Whether he would manage the national team though...

Time for a new progressive coach who will bring fresh ideas and not be afraid to play youngsters. (Although feel like we’ve been saying this after every Scotland manager sacking for 20 years).

Best news I've heard today, and as others said, been better if we also had a clear-out at the SFA as well. Doubt with that shower in control we'll get much progressive thinking on the next manager! They'll probably give it to Moyes...

Nae chance, will be getting more £££ at Sky.

Push the boat out, get big Guus Hiddink in.

Or give Rodgers a laptop with FM18 and a video conferencing facility and he can do it on his time off from Celtic.

Can't see it that the SFA would make a good choice, so it'll be rinse & repeat until the next time & the next time.... Etc

The whole setup is rotten from the core.

You don't seriously think Lenny would even want his name on that list, Shirley? The Hibbys now love him and he's wearing the green - he'd swap that to be the public face of a national association which looked the other way during the 11 years he was demonised and persecuted as a Celtic man? By the very Hootsmons he'd be relying on for support? Feck 'em, feck 'em all! :nono:

eff the Hibby's.

If Neil thought he could lead Scotland to a national finals then I think he would jump at it.

If it has to be someone Scottish then i'd prefer Alex Neil. But it would still leave me deeply uninspired.

Luckily Cathro has been proven to be lacking in managerial skills. Had he never gone to Hearts and been found out I reckon he'd have got the job. Imagine that...

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
A foreign coach is a waste of time in Scotland.

The media turn on him too quickly, start making out he's a weirdo, stop tidying up his language, lobby on behalf of their unemployed mates in the game, and the supporters fall for it.

Not a defence of Pedro obviously, but it is a well-worn routine.
Most of them have been weirdos though
 Venglos wasnt. Neither was Vogts or Le Guen. Skovdahl cracked his "stats are like miniskirts" line, and that was it. Most of the rest just show a bit of personality, which is amusing at first because we're used to the same boring arsehole managers,, and it then gets held against them when McLeish, Smith, Etc are out of work.

Inevitable I suppose but I'm not jumping for joy at the thought of a Moyes,Lambert or McKay appointment. Big Sam for me.
