The SFA will keep strachan.
And I don't think he'll resign.
IF he does go, heard from a well placed source it will likely be Malky Mackay
That would be a typical predictable SFA appointment.

Should offer Alex Ferguson what he wants.
Basically, this.
I would be amazed if Ferguson was at all interested.
Aim high.

Just said exactly the same thing to my mate. They've got to ask him the question.

Yup.

I'd accept John Collins, too.

Just don't hit us with some boring 'easy' choice like Lambert.

You know Reagan would probably try and make him go through an interview process.

"So Mr Ferguson, what makes you think you're the best candidate for this role?"

Fergie will be nearly 77 the next time Scotland play a meaningful game, not sure it would be the wisest choice for either party.

Who gives a eff if he's 77 . He's not playing centre mid . Would prob still move quicker than most of our midfield though.

He knows how to win games with mediocre teams . Done it for years at Man U.

Why would Ferguson fancy it?

He's in his dotage, probably having a great time. He has more money than he will know what to do with and he retired a legend. Why would he want to manage this Scotland squad?

SAF is at the age where he no longer needs the money or the hassle. He seems content enough in retirement.

But the SFA should definitely pick his brains about who to appoint as Strachan's successor.

Mind you, based on what happened at Old Trafford, if they do speak to him they'll probably end up with Davie Moyes in the job.

If Bannan is the best midfield player in the championship then that league really is poor.

I’d take Michael O’Neill. Think he stays in Scotland most of the year, so he might be tempted. Probably not the most glamorous of suggestions but then again it’s not exactly the most glamorous of jobs at the moment.

Edit: if NI qualify for Russia then this is immediately blown out of the water.
The manager of Scotland should be a Scot. Appointing someone who wouldn't be eligible to play for Scotland goes against the whole spirit of international football.
Not exactly much choice

considering how you were humbled by iceland in france then you shouldn't be too cocky.
how many engerlund fans will go to russia anyway?

can't see it being a lot considering the slapping you took from them in france :lolhuns:

Bold appointment. Better than half of the names that'll be mentioned though.

If we're going for a local coach I'd be happy with Alex Neil (if he's up for not doing club management). Young, progressive and likes to give youngsters a chance (see Hamilton).

Strachan has to go. His excuse about genetics dictating his selections is beyond ridiculous.

Srečko Katanec had his last day as Slovenian national manager yesterday, would be perfect for us. Take over Scotland, get to know the Scottish game, then take over Celtic after 10 in a row, should BR ever decide to leave us after that

Patriotism, maybe.
