Pep under achieved
No he didn't.

He won everything he could've won in Germany in 2 out the 3 seasons he was there and set all sorts of stupid domestic records.

Got to 3 CL semi-finals and lost to the eventual champions in two of those cases.

He was a Thomas Müller penalty and a wee bit better finishing away from the final in the season they played Atletico.

It's lazy as eff to say no CL final = underachievement considering the bawhair margains of error when you get to the CL latter stages.

I would say not winning the CL with Bayern would have been seen as an under-achievement by the man himself.

A blot on an otherwise perfect copybook.

bizarre statistic that 50% of the teams in our group have punted their manager before we've had a chance to play them

Has that ever happened before that 2 teams in the same group have punted managers before matchday 3?

Personally would have preferred that he'd still be in place until after we play them as there's a chance they'll noe get the interim manager bounce in their form by the time we play them on Halloween :zombie: . :boik:

Hiddink ....because has there ever been a managerial vacancy he hasn't been linked with?
Thinking about it, he would be a perfect interim manager for the rest of the season.

Getting sacked is part of the manager job, of course. But getting replaced by Sagnol, even temporarily, it's like putting salt on a fresh wound. Ouch. Poor Carlos.

I think Bayern should go for McLeish after his fantastic vision of the Anderlecht v Celtic game.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Nagelsmann could do a lot worse than get another couple of years under his belt at Hoffenheim.

A ridiculously big job at this stage in his career.
One day you're the boy wonder, the next you're André Villas-Boas and kicking around in retirement leagues before you reach 40.

The semi-final of the CL isn't what he was employed to do. He failed. Sorry.

I think in recent years there has been a sort of 'golden circle' of managers who tend to get the jobs at the really big (i.e. wealthy) clubs. Guardiola and mourinho are in there and given their success that is understandable however guys like benitez and ancellotti also get some big jobs and it is harder to justify that. It seems in some cases the main Criteria seems to have been whether or not they have managed other big clubs before, with less regard for how well they actually did in those clubs.

Is he not the only manager to have won 3 European cups?
