It's a De Boer so I thoroughly approve of Palace's decision.

Didn't look like DeBoer had lost the dressing room going on their weekend showing
The chat before the game this weekend is that the senior players had demanded the change in tactics. DeBoer had lost the dressing room, and the good performance against Burnley was because the players lost faith in him and over-ruled his instructions. Reading between the lines of his post-match interview all of the above was probably true- if so, he fully deserved the sack.
No-one deserves the sack after 4 games

Can we make an exception for ex-Rangers players ;)

Was he the one that missed the penalty - or the other one ?

Tosser either way
Depends which penalty you're talking about.

Frank missed one for the old Huns v Hibs in a League Cup game, c. 2004. I think he also missed one (two?) in a Euro 2000 semi v Italy.

Ronald missed one v Brazil in a 1998 World Cup semi
ones called Ronald, one's called Frank, both missed penalties and both of them are...

Given the players at Palace, De Boer was a mental appointment in the first place.

He deserved the sack because highly paid professional footballers couldn't and wouldn't follow their manager's instruction to play a style of football which wasn't the route one dinosaur stuff they're used to? :ponder:

Have no love for De Boer and eff him and his EBT, but in the scenario you paint he isn't the one who should be losing his job there.

Bilic is hopeless. Surprised he is still in a job.

You can easily flip that- if a highly paid manager can't figure out an appropriate formation for the league and players he has, and just unthinkingly goes back to the stuff he's used to, then he isn't much use...

In real life, for a normal job, I'd agree with you. But at the highest level football management is a big money job partly because getting fired for failure is a guarantee. The players have worked with him for two months. If they have already lost faith in the manager's ability and tactics then the manager has failed in his job, irrespective of how much other blame goes to players (and I don't think the Crystal Palace squad has any reputation for unprofessionalism). It's the manager's job to get them to believe in him. And since it was the players who demanded the 4 at the back formation that led to by far their best performance of the season, why would you respect or continue to employ a manager who demonstrably understands less about EPL tactics than the players?

Why would you hire him in the first place? I doubt any heads will roll in the Palace boardroom over this.

Not a chance Koeman is near the sack.
An Everton supporting mate, who is usually fairly on the ball, tells me that all is not well at Goodison.

Chris Sutton's take...
"It all seems very underhand. If Roy Hodgson is unveiled as the new Palace manager in the next day or two, then are you telling me he wasn't spoken to before the Burnley game?"
Strange thing to be annoyed about from big Chris.

If you were going to sack a manager or even thought about it surely you'd take a look around to see what's available?
