Sky live at Easter Road just now. Saying Lennon, Malky Mackay and Alex McLeish are the front runners for it and they expect an announcement by Tuesday.

Have to say, I'm shocked those three are in contention. Thought all three would regard that job as being beneath them.
All damaged goods who have flopped in their most recent jobs. Hibs is a decent job for any of them, though it's not going to be easy topping what Stubbs achieved this year, especially if they lose a chunk of that squad and have Dundee United, Falkirk, Raith and possibly St Mirren and Dunfermline to compete with.
Out of three I suspect Malky would do the best job - he's a first class tool and not for us but he'd do better than mcleish for sure and I just couldn't see NL taking another job in Scotland if i'm honest but you never know

A couple of interesting comments from Roy Keane:

Keane - Owners prefer coaches with white teeth and a tan

He's always good for a quote.
Thought that "tan and white teeth" comment might have been a dig at Celtic for hiring BR, but changed my mind after reading the article. It's more directed at American owners.

Edit: I see someone else beat me to it.

Me too. Any one of those three would be a major coup for Hibs.

Not really. Makay can't get hired by anyone and McLeish is out of work. At his age he might fancy something a little more low key.

If Lennon comes back and does well with Hibs he'll be well situated if BR does really really well and moves on, or really really badly and moves on.
No thanks.

Yup. The appointment of Rodgers has raised the bar considerably. Why would we want to lower it again?

Lennon and Mackay's last jobs ended in relegation to England's third tier. Last I heard of McLeish he was messing about with some short-term deal in Egypt. They might be big names but they're all at the back of the queue right now for decent jobs.

True, their stock is hardly at its highest. But you are talking about guys who have managed clubs in the Champions League latter stages, and won trophies outside of Scotland. Have Hibs or any other Scottish First Division club, realistically, ever been able to appoint a manager with those types of credentials before?

If rumours are also to be believed, then two of those three were also interviewed for our job. Fair enough they may have both been near the bottom of any shortlist, but to go from potentially managing Celtic, to Hibs, in the space of a few weeks is a bit of a come down in more ways than one.

Don't see why not. They wouldn't blink an eyelid at paying that for a half decent player, so should it be any different for a good manager? If anything it's a bargain, as he's more likely to bring them success than most players in that price range these days.

Correct. If Koeman is the man to turn Everton into a major force, he'd be worth a transfer fee of at least £50 million. £5 million is what Everton pay for a back up left back.

Concerning Mourinho. I see Dr Carneiro turned down £1.2m out of court settlement from Chelsea to settle all her claims. I feel she may live to regret that.

Sounds like a lot but after paying her lawyers fees, probably not much more than a years pay for her.

It is, quite literally, the managerial candidate version of 'Hibsing it'!

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep

The money flooding the English game will be affecting any opportunities that guys like Lennon will have down south.

Perennial basket case Villa now have a Champions League winning manager despite being relegated.

Newcastle have kept hold of Rafa.

Obviously Lenny wouldn't have been in the running for these two jobs, but there will be a lot of managers who have done more in their career who will be forced to take jobs at smaller clubs for the foreseeable future.

Not a great time to be a British or Irish manager if they have top level ambitions.

Think Hibs would be a sound choice for Lenny as he needs his own rebuild.

If he's willing to talk to them he must have done so knowing that the figures would be in this ballpark.
