There are age caps in a lot of official and business positions in France, why not in football ?
One of the problems French club football was the poor quality of managers, who were very organised to block younger and foreign coaches from getting jobs in Ligue 1. The age cap was introduced to force them leave at some point.

Not to be confused with Manuel Pellegrini or Mauricio Pochettino.
